Next To Her Cover Reveal

For more than two years, the 84-year-old Maurice takes care of his terminally ill wife Yvonne. Because of the stress and strain of caring for someone in need of constant supervision, the line between nurturing and torturing is easily crossed. Is the elderly couple still capable of uncovering the tenderness of their bond?

NEXT TO HER is based on the last years of fellow blogger Vanessa Morgan's grandfather.
This is a screen play for a short film. Not a normal book.

I bet you're counting the days!

sounds like a lovely one, we don't get many books and films on senior citizens

Every writer would. There's nothing better than having lots of free time to write ;-)

Thanks :) It's true that there are few books and movies on the subject. Old age is something most of us prefer to ignore, but there can be a lot of beauty in an elderly couple caring for each other.

Congrats to Vanessa. With the population ageing, there really should be more fiction with older protagonists.

The film comes out on January 31 - very exciting for Vanessa!

Vanessa Morgan said...

Thanks, Annalisa. I definitely agree :)

I wish. Only the screenplay will be officially released. We are still making the film, which should be released in 2015 for sure :-)

Congratulations, Vanessa. Love the cover. And, as Dezmond says, it's nice to see a book out there on senior citizens.

first time here. I like it. how exciting to be retiring. foolishly I thought time "would slow down" with time being my own. it doesn't, of course. I've been retired from teaching for 9 years- 10 years come June.
