Monday: Fasting Day

I may have mentioned that the doctor put my husband on a diet that consists of fasting twice a week and I went on it with him for support. Yup, you guessed it, it's fasting day.

No fun. But that was nice of you to do it with him for support.

It would be really hard to watch you eat while he's fasting.

I have heard that fasting is very healthy because while you are not eating then your body is not spending the extra energy trying to digest food. Apparently we use the majority of our energy to digest. Therefore, that extra energy can go to things like healing.

However, It is still tough to do despite such great health benefits.

Bravo to you for supporting your husband!

Fasting you say, tried that a few times, my body wasn't happy with it. Then again being a skin flint that was probably why

Fasting, no food at all? Or in the Catholic sense, one meal a day? Either way, what a good wife you are.

Why does one have to fast? That seems a bit rough to do and I couldn't do it. Good luck though and very sweet that you are joining him

Fasting twice a week sounds very tough. Especially on a regular basis. Thank goodness your husband has your support. Good luck!

I had a Muslim co-worker who fasted during Ramadan. This included no water either. From what I remember, they could only eat after praying when the sun goes down.

Thanks, Lauren. Our doctor is a big believer in it.

If your body doesn't like it, probably not the thing to be doing.

Somewhere in between. We're allowed 600 calories.

Good question. But it does seem to be working for him. So as long as he's up for it we'll keep going.

Thanks, Jess.

I couldn't give up water.

Do you spread those out throughout the day, or gobble them all at once?
