The Case of the Missing Clove

Awhile back I began smelling garlic. Since neither my husband or I cook with garlic it was beginning to freak me out. All I could think of was a gas leak or a vampire hunting specter in the house. I called the gas company and they informed me if I had a leak it would smell like rotten eggs.(Personally I'd rather smell garlic.) I'd also ruled out the vampire hunting specter since we have no silver and there's no stakes lying around.
It finally dawned on me that when the family was in for the holidays both my daughter and her fiance used garlic cloves when they cooked at Christmas and my sister used garlic cloves when she cooked on our birthdays.  At some point one of the little pungent bulbs made a break for freedom and is hiding in the kitchen. Whew, better than specters or gas leaks, now I just have to find the darn thing.

Glad it's not a serious problem. I'm not fond of garlic, either

At least it's kept your kitchen vampire free.
It would probably scare you how much garlic we cook with in our house.

Well no vampires will be bothering you at least

Good to know about the rotten egg smell for gas! Hope you find the garlic :-)

I love garlic! It may have even sprouted and maybe it is near the stove? If you see Bela Lugosi say hi to him from me:)

I used to love garlic but the hh has a very bland palate. The only seasoning he appreciates is salt. I've been away from it for so long it actually made me nauseous to smell it when my sister was cooking with it.

I like it when used subtly but it can be overpowering.

I love organic local fresh garlic. So buttery and delish. No stink. Yum!

Glad it wasn't something serious.
