I'm So Sad It's Friday....

Happy last day of July and a moment of silence for faculty whose summer vacay is over. I believe the students still have a few weeks reprieve. If you teach or are a student when is your first day back?

School starts in September in my country and College usually at the end of October :)

I'm sure some weirdo somewhere has said it.
Since I don't have kids, I have no idea when they go back to school here. I dread it because it's the return of the #%!# school bus.

RAMEN, brother! and not only the buses, but the car traffic associated with the back-to-school crap!

Himself teaches at a community college. He will finish Summer 2 on 13. August. The Fall semester begins on 8. Sept.

Most kids here go back in August, but my wife used to live in Minnesota where it started in September

September it is here. And yeah, I bet some work obsessed nut has said it

You're right. I go to pick up the new textbook today. Ugh. New class plans before end of month.

Anyone who would have said that has been in the insane asylum ever since. You know, even after all these decades i still get the heebie-jeebies about back to school crap

End of October. That would be way late for us. How long does it run?

till July, with a number of breaks for exam periods :) But we have exams from September and October, so it's just lecture free but not exam free

Sounds like you've been stuck behind a few of them.

What's he teach, CJ?

The baby girl's hubby is from Minnesota.
The CCs here start about mid Aug.

Happy August.
On this side of the world it is still winter, and the kidlets are still in school. Which makes trips to the shops considerably quieter.

Sandra Cox said...

How many classes do you have, Rhobin?

I think my daughter has two more weeks before school resumes. Summer is generally an easier time in my work, but I've been making the most of it with lots of sailing and kayaking and traveling...

Doesn't sound like it was a very positive experience:(

Sandra Cox said...

I appreciate the concern:)

And to you, Ivy:)

I'm just sad (period) at the close of summer. Summer was very short this year...almost could say it was a cold summer with only the exception of a few hot days.
I hate to see school start because I live a block down the street from a middle school. Most kids have no care for the environment because I continually pick up soda cans, candy wrappers and empty snack bags from my lawn. I wonder who's failed in their responsibility to teach kids otherwise?

Sandra Cox said...

Sorry to hear that. It would be frustrating.

We are getting into the colder months this side of the globe!
