Waving My Hanky

Have you noticed Google is vaporizing the followers? About forty of mine are gone. Google sent out a notification but it didn't make any sense to me then and it doesn't now. If I understood it correctly, you have to have a google account to be a blog follower.  That makes sense....if you own Google. I'm standing in cyber land waving my hanky in goodbye.  Actually, I hope if your follow has been sucked down into the black hole you are still stopping by. You know you're always welcome here, even if your follow disappeared.

  7. I'm on the "other" platform, WordPress, but I still have a google account for all of the blogs I follow (plus a lot of other google-related stuff like gmail and Google+). The truth is, sometimes I could do with all this tech stuff. It's impossible to keep up with the changes. Boo-hiss on Google!

    1. I think of the two, word press was probably be the better to use. I just haven't found it as easy to work with. Maybe because I don't use it that much. But at least WP doesn't chew up the followers:)

  9. Hi, dear Sandra!

I noticed that, too! I recently lost a batch of followers two nights in a row and was starting to get a complex, thinking I had offended that many people. I was all set to offer a six-pack of Schlitz Malt Liquor to new subscribers (and hot dogs and balloons for the kiddies) - anything to drum up business and get people through the door. :)

You are one friend I don't ever want to lose, Sandra. Your latest comment on my blog was greatly appreciated. It is the mark of a genuine friend to return to a post and delve more deeply into the material. Thank you for your interest and your ongoing friendship!

  11. I had thought it was just me but seemingly not. A fellow blogger explained it like this if it is any help ....

If you use a non-Google Account to follow my blog, you need to sign up for a Google Account, and re-follow my blog. With a Google Account, you'll get blogs added to your Reading List, making it easier for you to see the latest posts and activity of the blogs you follow.

    1. Hi Tracy,
That's it! It's bothersome to me, that they are forcing folks to get a google acct if they want to follow.

    Yvonne.

  14. Oh my goodness...I didn't know that! I'll keep an eye out for it. I've started to keep a spreadsheet of all my top blogs (and yes, you're on there), so I don't miss out on any blogs. I've been MIA for the last couple of weeks...just finding it painful to write at the moment, which included blogging. But I'm finally feeling up to it again! huzzah :)
