A-Z: Zombie Cat

Actually......

This was the latest I could find on Bart and it's from June, 2015.(Downloaded from Facebook.) As of the June date  there was/is a custody battle between the original owner and the Humane Society of Tampa for Bart.

  1. Poor cat. My partner insists on being cremated in case he is not properly dead and buried alive. It would be horrible.

  4. Oh how awful. I noticed the eye even before I looked at the video, because my first cat Dog had glaucoma and lost an eye toward the end of his life. I feel so sorry for this cat, and I'm glad the humane society have now taken over Bart's care, because it's obvious his owner doesn't deserve him!

What an incredible way to to finish out this month. BRAVO!!!

    1. Thanks, Elizabeth.
Faux Paw is on glaucoma drops. Anything to do with the eyes is always scary.

  5. Hi, Sandra!

This zombie cat scenario unfolded in my vicinity but I didn't know about it. How awful! I would feel terrible if I owned a pet and mistakenly gave it a premature burial. I hope Bart goes on to live a long and happy life in spite of his disfiguring injuries.

Thank you, dear Sandra, and have a great weekend!

    1. Hi Shady,
The last bit of info I could find, he looks healthy and happy.
I'm always afraid of burying an animal alive so I wait 24 hrs even if they've been declared dead.

  16. That's horrible! I remember hearing a story about how they used to tie a string around dead people's fingers when they buried them and connect it to a bell. If the person came back to life, they'd ring the bell and people would know to unbury them. I don't know if that's true or not...I did wonder how many people rang those bells! Good thing they embalm people now...and (I hope) have the tech to make sure they're dead before they embalm them!

  20. This cat deserves a medal for never giving up and have the strength to keep going...we could learn from such a tenacious pussy cat. I have to look him up and see more about him and how he is doing. Was he abused by his owner or did the owner just believe he had died? Anyway, A great A to Z challenge and again, sorry about my pics not coming to you. We all need a rest and my Kaspar is right this minute being hissed at by diva Lucy.

    1. He does deserve a meddle. Supposedly he was hit by a car, thought dead, and buried. If you find out anything more let me know, I'm curious about what is going on now with him.
      Don't worry about the pics.
      Heading to your place.
