How Did You Spend Your Weekend?

So, blogster buds, how did you spend your weekend?  Did you have a good one?

Saturday we rented Gods of Egypt, which we enjoyed. It was fun. Didn't take itself too seriously.

Sunday we went to the ConCarolinas, a Sci-fi conference in Concord. We didn't have an opportunity to take in a lot of the workshops but we did attend the Ghostbusters vs Ghost hunters, which except for bad acoustics, was quite good. I found out Charlotte has a paranormal society that I wasn't aware of. I did have to chuckle when they started talking about ghosts, whether real or not, for sale on ebay, which is what Ghost For Sale is based on:)  And I bought a pretty fairy necklace.  All in all a good afternoon.  Now what about you? What did you do?

Vampire Island is on sale this week for .99¢ at Amazon.

Glad you had a fun weekend. Didn't get much done here but did wander through a flea market yesterday! Have a great week, hugs, Valerie

It sounds like you had a really good weekend. And ghosts for sale on ebay would have cracked me up too. I thoroughly enjoyed that book of yours.
Here we watched it rain. The garden and I were happy. The cats? Not.

Impressive preview for sure.
Rained all weekend and there are floods in some areas of the northern half of our island. We are ok....so we stayed home.

My publisher has sent promotional items to that con, but I've never attended. Sounds like fun.
I didn't have to do any yard work which is a big plus for me!

stayed inside most of the weekend, got the oil changed in my car, went grocery shopping, did laundry, knitted, napped, listened to radio baseball, ate doughnuts from a local mom-n-pop store that just opened (dee-lish).

I took kids fishing all weekend. It was a charming experience.

My weekend: Read a book (Eye of the Heron by Ursula K. LeGuin), walked in the rain, worked in the garden, visited family.

Sat., I waited for a delivery. Sun., I played with my new toys. Is God's of Egypt on Netflix? Looks good.

It sounds like you had a great weekend. So....did you buy a ghostie?? The film looks hokey but fun. We went to a garden showing in Niagara On The Lake. There were 8 different homes showcasing their beautiful gardens which was lovely to see and something I can never afford since the homes go for over a million dollars due to the location.

Just how does one sell a ghost on eBay?

We picked up a new game this weekend and it's a lot of fun.

Hi, Sandra!

It was cool that you attended a sci-fi conference and learned more about paranormal phenomena. It's a good thing Gods of Egypt didn't take itself too seriously. Seems like every action adventure fantasy movie made in recent years has a wise cracking hero and quirky characters that offer comic relief.

My weekend had a split personality. On Saturday evening, Mrs. Shady and I attended a company dinner party at a nice restaurant with a magnificent view of a marina. On the way home we got caught in heavy rain - a sign of things to come. Yesterday and last evening bands of heavy rain from tropical storm Colin swept through our area and today we expect torrential rain and wind. I hope we don't lose power down here.

Have a wonderful day, dear friend Sandra!

You don't need to get a lot done on a weekend, Val. It's in the rules:)

The weekend was good. Thanks for the positive comments on Ghost:)
Gardeners and gardens do enjoy the rain. Cats...not so much.

Sounds like a good weekend to me! Mine was productive, cleaning the art room, doing a couple of paintings, overall tidying up, long overdue! Now, onto a busy week!

We had pizza too. Love pizza. And you are also an ice cream aficionado aren't you?

It was good. How about yours?

Woo Hoo on no yard work.

Sounds like a productive, but relaxed weekend. I especially like the donuts from the mom n pop:)Many years ago we lived down the block from a mom and pop shop that made homemade. OMG. They were wonderful.

I bet you had a great time:)

Sounds perfect, Marcie.

Heading to your place in the hopes of more info on the toys:) I don't know about Netflix. We're still at Red Box...

No ghostie buying for me. That pretty much sums up the film:) I love to go through gardens and homes. What fun!

Sandra Cox said...

Hi Diane,
Never bought or sold one, but I'm assuming the selling process would be the same.
Ooh fun. What game?

Sounds like you had a whole lot more fun than I had. I went looking for a new hot water heater, spent all the time and trouble, then found out that after my basement flooded, the pilot light went out. All I needed was for the pilot light to be relit, and my dear friend Scott did that for me. So much better than him having to change out the hot water heater. And I didn't even buy a pretty necklace or even eat out.

It was a lovely rainy weekend here, so I spent it quietly and very leisurely...just reading and catching up on a couple of recorded TV shows and movies. Just me and my two furry rascals... :)

Sandra Cox said...

Relaxing and watching TV sounds like a good weekend to me:)

Sandra Cox said...

Whew. I'm glad that was all it was. Though sorry there was no eat out or pretty necklace:(

Perfect!
