Local Street Art and More

After commenting last week that I didn't see much street art in this area guess what I stumbled across:
Isn't this great? It's at the Yellow Deli in Hiddenite, NC and painted around an actual water wheel that's running. The food is both healthy and delicious. It is run by a co-operative society: The Yellow Deli People/Twelve Tribes of Israel and is open from Sunday at noon till Friday at three. Whether one is in agreement with their beliefs or not the food is good and the ambience is warm and inviting.

After lunch, a friend and I went hiking at Rocky Face Mountain Recreational Area, in Alexander County, another fun find.  You can do moderate to strenuous trails or just do a simple walk at the base. The weather cooperated with us on our outing. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time.
You can see the walking track below.

My walking buddy.

And...

Wishing you a Happy Halloween a day early.  I'll be off line for a few days. My little grandson is having surgery tomorrow.  Positive energy, good thoughts and prayers are appreciated. For those of you who have all ready sent good wishes or lit a candle, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Interesting place. You didn't actually say which walk you did. Perhaps not the strenuous one. Many good thoughts for your grandchild's surgery.

Sending prayers and good thoughts for that little one. I hope all is well.

You make me anxious to get out and get physical. If only there were awesome places like that to hike around here. I mean, there are hiking trails that end at lakes, but nothing elevated with a view. The kids would love that--especially now that it's cool enough to enjoy the outdoors.

P.S. I nominated you for an award in September, then failed to get out and say something. LOL. Life, eh?

Best of everything to the little one.

That's some pretty country you got to hike in. The outdoors is good medicine.

I'm honestly kind of jealous. Where I'm at, there's so much urbanization I have to drive for an hour to really find ANYWHERE secluded and then another hour or two to truly be away from people. The flipside is, should I head up to LA, they have all sorts of awesome street art. I'll share if I remember to take pictures the next time I'm up there.

I'm not an urban girl. There's too much cement for me. I needs lots of green and growing things.

I had meant to add good surgery wishes here and when I re-read this after your other, realized I didn't. So glad things went well.
