IWSG Wednesday

The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer’s Support Group day. Members post about their doubts and fears, discuss struggles and triumphs, and offer words of encouragement to others who are struggling.

May 2 question - It’s spring! Does this season inspire you to write more than others, or not?

Another great question.  As far as my response...who wants to write or do housework, for that matter, when Mother Nature is singing her siren song, seducing us with good weather and gardening, especially when it has been an extremely long winter? Not me.
FYI: The IWSG monthly question can be found under the IWSG Sign-up tab on the Insecure Writer's Support Group Blog.

When it's spring I just want to be outside and enjoy it! Hugs, Valerie

I never realised how grateful I should be that kidnapping is illegal.
Yay for writers. All of you.

As long as spring is not too hot, stormy, or windy (I DO live in tornado alley) I love being outside, gardening, and making art.

LOVED your writing/kidnapping theory.

Yeah, kidnapping people is frowned upon. When mother nature gets hot, indoors I'll stay.

Hahahaaa...I just left a comment on Alex’s blog that people will either feel a fresh start to write or others will just enjoy being outside. I think most will be outside going for walks, gardening...whatever. I laugh at the kidnapping deal

Still not warm here yet, but is expected to be soon.

Mother Nature told me I had a lot of yard work to do this spring...

LOL! That's probably why I write best at night, after the excitement of the day is done and there's no more sun or activity to keep me distracted.

No doubt:)

Glad you enjoyed it Ronel. Thanks for stopping by.

Ha! We are right there with ya:)

Soon, Jamie....soon.

I agree I think most would opt for walking and gardening:)
Heh Heh. Keeping fingers on keyboard.

Jeanie said...

That's hard. It doesn't inspire me any more than other months, apart from the fact that I walk more (and think more during the walks.) But it's harder to write because I want to be outside enjoying it, even if just reading a book!

Sandra Cox said...

Exactly.

Sandra Cox said...

It is frowned upon:)
I'm with ya when the weather gets hot, Pat;)

We lived many years in IN. I remember tornado alleys well. You have my sincere sympathies.

Ha!

Siren's song! Perfect way to describe that tantalizing spring with her flowers and gentle breezes. I also like your reason for writing. Staying out of jail is one of my life goals.

Sandra Cox said...

You bet, Val! Hugs received and returned.

Sandra Cox said...

Haha. Mine too, Lee.

I loved the answer to why you write, and all that time in nature will inspire you when the weather isn't so good!

In Florida, it's been feeling like a long summer for months...and summer is still a ways off. Sigh, but I have been enjoying the "season" and doing more outdoors. Until it gets too hot anyway. lol

I love that saying!

It never occurred to me to kidnap anyone. What a great idea! :-)

Let's hope so, Nick:)

I hear the siren song luring my writing time to a painful death too. Force of will alone will keep me inside editing. Love the quote, especially the "technically" part.

Springtime must be a hard time to concentrate on anything but the good weather!

Sandra Cox said...

You probably live in one of the few states that didn't have unusual amounts of snow this year, Chrys:)

Sandra Cox said...

Heh!

Sandra Cox said...

Editing! You are strong in the force:)

Sandra Cox said...

That's for sure, Christine.

We have more to write about at Spring/summer, In winter we seem to bemoan the fact that's it's cold and we.
Enjoy this month Sandra.

Yvonne.

Sandra Cox said...

Heh. You like to be outdoors too don't you, Elizabeth?:)

Sandra Cox said...

You enjoy the month too, Yvonne. I hope it's inspirational:)

I love being outside, but I just wish there wasn't so much to do! LOL! I'm complaining a lot this year! Sorry! LOL! But, I have to admit, as much as I love being outside, nothing keeps me from my painting! Big Hugs!
