Lt Gov of South Carolina Andre Bauer
Lieutenant Governor Andre Bauer of South Carolina comparing government assistance to the poor to feeding strays:
"My grandmother was not a highly educated woman but she told me as a small child quit feeding stray animals. You know why? Because they breed. You are fascilitating the problem if you give an animal or person an ample food supply. They will reproduce, especially those that don't think too much farther than that.'
Obviously compassion is not his middle name.

Cats and Clocks
The next time your boss asks why you were late to work you'll know what to tell him.
The cats broke into the catnip while we were at work yesterday. When we got home everyone was lolling around in various states of euphoria.

Martin Luther King
In the turbulent 60s, one man had a dream......
Martin Luther King was born January 15, 1929. A clergyman and an activist, he led the 1955 Bus Boycott in Montgomery Alabama. In 1963, he led the march on Washington and delivered his never to be forgotten, 'I Have a Dream' speech. In 1964, he received the Nobel Peace Prize. He worked to end poverty and opposed the Vietnam war. Martin Luther King was assasinated in Memphis, Tennesse April 4, 1968, but his legacy of unity lives on.

Friendship, Moonlight and Mayhem
What a wretched lot of old shrivelled creatures we shall be by-and-by. Never mind--the uglier we get in the eyes of others, the lovelier we shall be to each other; that has always been my firm faith about friendship~George Eliot
I'll be blogging this week at Moonlight, Lace, and Mayhem in the YA Room. If you have an opportunity, stop by and say hey.

'I wish I could learn these lessons for you but I cannot. Its a journey you must make alone. It will be painful in the extreme. But know this. You will surive. And your story will be told around the campfire of soldier and peasant cats alike. The name of Sittchuk-Seth will ride the wind and be carried to the farthest corners of the kingdom.'~Furrlin, The Wizard Cat ODIN CATS
