Coming in May

www.wallpapers.free-review.net
Among the northern tribes there is a legend passed down from generation to generation about shape-shifting Minders—guardians of the innocents—and how they came to be. It is said that nowadays only a handful of Minders exist, hunted to near extinction by a fearsome beast. Of the remaining Minders, only one wears a garnet-studded collar, the symbol of protection and royalty.
Even when my aunt told me the story, and handed me an ancient garnet-studded band, I had no idea the tale applied to me.
After all, it’s only a legend…

MINDER will be released in May at MuseItUp Publishers

Bling

Our rescue group held a Bling Furr The Animals Party last week. Folks donated new and gently used jewelry and purses. We ended up with a wonderful assortment. At the party we set up tables with items ranging from $2 to $8 and held a silent auction.
If you're looking for a fundraising idea for your favorite charity, this one is relatively easy and doesn't involve a lot of outlay. You can also do it with books, CD's, movies, clothes, etc.

Need a quick chocolate fix?
Follow the standard recipe found on your box of Rice Krispies
Then add a brimming tablespoon of crunchy peanut butter and
a bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips
spoon into your pan and pat down. Yum.

I love quick and easy cereal desserts. What's your favorite?

It's The Little Things

A few days ago, the books I'd ordered from Jupiter Gardens arrived. Okay, my books, I'd ordered--blush, blush--arrived.
I'm going to digress for a minute. For those of you on the reading end, some publishers give you x amount of copies of your books and some sell them to you at a discounted price.
Now where was I? Oh yes, I'd just received my books. Imagine my surprise when I opened them and found this lovely postcard included inside.
I appreciated it on many levels. A) I think its beautifully done. B) I appreciate the publisher taking the extra step in the advertising realm to have it made up and C) I'm featured with my friend, Heidi Telpner.
It's the little things.

You're a vegetarian. Why don't you like okra?

I always have to grin when someone asks me, "You're a vegetarian, why don't you like okra?"
Or, "You're a vegetarian, why don't you like mushrooms?"
Or, "You're a vegetarian, why don't you like beets?"
Or, "You're a vegetarian, why don't you like celery?"
"You're a vegetarian, why don't you like....?"
And my response is, "You're a carnivore, err excuse me, a meat eater, why don't you like liver?"
Okay, some meat eaters out there do like liver but you get my drift. No matter whether its veggies or meat, there are just some foods its hard to cozy up to.
There were lots of veggies I wasn't that enamored of that I now enjoy:
Squash and olives.
Okay maybe that doesn't constitute lots but my horizons have expanded since I became a vegetarian. I now enjoy tofu. And a variety of cheeses including but not limited to pepper jack, feta, and white cheddar cheese.
So what foods have you learned to appreciate that you wouldn't have touched when you were younger?

Confessions of a Drawer Clutterer

Are you a drawer clutterer? Okay, this word probably isn't recognized by Webster, but if not I'll ask Amarinda Jones to put it in the Amarinda Dictionary.
Anyway, back to my question, are you a Drawer Clutterer? I'm horrible and if possible the hh is worse
Here's a Drawer Clutterer's dilemma: You can't find a place for...something...and unsure whether to keep it because you never know when you'll need it--though you probably won't--so..... you stick it in the first available drawer.
I look for my drawers to go on strike any day now. Since we've put our house on the market, I've been going through drawers, trying to relieve clutter and streamline. OMG. Its quite scary. And trying to get rid of anything gives me a headache. Many items elude my decision making process. Do I keep it? Do I put it in Goodwill? Do I trash it? Okay I don't use it, but it has sentimental value. But does it have enough sentimental value that I want to box it and later unpack it? And on it goes. I'm caught in the throes of my inability to make a decision.
What about you? Are you a drawer clutterer or do you deal quickly and ruthlessly with clutter?

Prophecy of Vithan

I just purchased this book and I’m am looking forward to reading it. Looks like a good one doesn’t it? If you're interested in buying and reading it, I've included the link below.

On a more personal note, Ms. Leatherman’s husband just passed after battling a lingering illness. Sincere condolences, Charlene.

Morgan had the life she had always dreamed of. Although still a brothel slave, the king and queen treated her like a free woman and the prince she was training was like a son to her. Then everything goes to hell. Morgan is forced into a marriage with a man she cannot respect or admire. Her prince is missing and the king and queen are killed. Morgan is blamed for the murder. Morgan's primary concern is to find Prince Khai.

The only thing slowing Morgan down is the prophecy about her saving the galaxy, remaining a virgin and that damn electric attraction she feels every time Len touches her.

Len had his orders. The ones everyone knew about and the other ones. Marry his soul mate and consummate the marriage, and determine if his new wife was the original Morgan Taj Zephyrain. The first he looked forward to. The second he preferred to ignore. Obviously Morgan Taj Zephyrain is the criminal Len is seeking. It is Len's job to bring the murderer to justice.

Summer Fruit Salad

I seldom cook. And when I do fix something its quick and easy. So I thought I'd share my quick and easy fruit salad recipe with you. Its great if you're looking for something light on a hot summer day.

Take fruit of your choice. (I usually use fresh grapes and a can of chunk pineapple.)
Drain the pineapple
Cut the grapes in half
Place your fruit in a bowl
Mix in vanilla yogurt
Then sprinkle with coconut and sliced almonds.
Quick and easy. And it's healthy and tastes yummy.

What about you? What's your quick and easy summer salad?

Kick Boxing

Any kick boxers out there? Have you ever tried it? Its a great work out and a lot of fun. Other than pushed back toenails, jammed fingers and bruises, I'm really enjoying it. grin.
I started about eight months ago, when one of the instructors at work kindly volunteered her time twice a week to teach the class. I got into it thinking it was the aerobics variety. Heh heh. Not quite. But once I got involved I really enjoyed it.
Now that the semester is over, our instructor is done teaching for the summer. So she and the rest of us signed up with her instructor at his studio. We had our first class yesterday. Yikes! I figure as far as exercising, that hour should take care of me for the rest of the week. I also can't play the age card anymore either. The instructor looks to be my age and has a body like a rock.
Absolutely the worst part of Muay Thai for me is jumping rope. Sounds silly right? When we were kids we did it for hours. Now its not so easy to get this 'mature' body in motion.
The reason for jumping rope is agility, so that if someone attacks you, you can move quickly and respond as necessary. I must admit I need work in that area:) Our instructor said five minutes of jumping rope is the equivalent of a one mile run. I believe it.
I also ended up on a bag that didn't have padding. Ouch. Next week I'll check them out a little closer.
But all in all it was great. If you're looking for a good workout combined with self-defense training, I recommend it.
