Ketch-up Day

How are you? What's going on in your corner of the world?

The HH can now drive short distances and lift ten pounds. Woot. Woot. We went to Walmart yesterday. I was so excited.

I can't even believe I said that. Yes, I have no life:)

AND

I learned the hard way to bring in my rain gauge before the temps hit freezing. So, I'm going to use the wheel barrow to show you how much rain we've had lately. Now all I need is some fish to stock it. Hehe.

AND

Once again my poor daffies (and the weeds) are confused and have popped their heads up. Sigh.

 What's the weather like there?

That's all, buds.👋

Ketchup-Day

How was your weekend? Keeping warm? It got in the teens here. Now I realize the teens is almost a heat wave in some areas, but it rates a brrrr here.  What's your weather been like?

How are you doing with automated answering services these days? As irritating as they are, I can usually get through to a human being but two have stumped me. The NFL and UPS. UPS particularly told me politely but firmly she/it wasn't connecting me without more information. Or words to that effect. And all I wanted was to tell them not to  leave my packages in the drive leaning up against the garage where they could get run over when I backed out. Yikes. Has anyone else run into this?

Your Weekend Read: THE WYVERN, THE PIRATE, AND THE MADMAN

Blurb:

Celwyn has avoided caring about anyone for hundreds of years, but he's about to learn the advantage, and cost, of true friendship.

While on a mission to avenge the death of his lover, the immortal peyote-eating magician Celwyn is hired to deliver an automat, Professor Kang, to a priest. But Celwyn quickly learns that everything the priest told him was a lie. Now his ship, the Zelda, is stuck in a horrific storm and Celwyn knows he must reconsider his allegiance if he is to steer his vessel in the right direction and continue his quest.

Celwyn is in love with himself and Earl Grey tea.
The automat and Professor, Xiau Kang, loves cookies.
Captain Nemo does not eat meat, only food from the sea.

Bio:

Early work was horror and suspense, later work morphed into a combination of magical realism, mystery and adventure painted with a horrific element as needed.

I’m one of those writers who doesn’t plan ahead, no outlines, no clue, and I sometimes write myself into a corner. Atmospheric music in the background helps. Black by Pearl Jam especially.

More information is available at LouKemp.com. I'd love to hear from you and what you think of Celwyn, Bartholomew, and Professor Xiau Kang.

Shameless Self-Promotion: SHERIFF TYREE, Second in the Tyree Series

Blurb:

Keeper Tyree has a reputation of being the toughest, most fearsome bounty hunter in Kansas. Now he’s sheriff of El Dorado.

 Description:

There’s a new sheriff in town.

Instead of chasing bounties all over the state, Keeper Tyree has taken the job of sheriff of El Dorado.

Everything is going well. He’s tamed the town and now he doesn’t have to knock more than a few heads together a day, and has no more than one or two occupants in the calaboose at a time. Then a stranger comes to town. A stranger bent on vengeance and the man he wants to bring down is Keeper.

Mitchell Jordan holds Keeper personally responsible for his daddy being hung. He believes in an eye for an eye and he’s out to even the score. A family member for a family member.

Keeper is fearless, except where his loved ones are concerned. They’re his one weakness and there’s nothing he won’t do to keep them safe no matter which side of the law he has to come down on. There’s no right or wrong, there’s just taking care of his own. And now they’ve been threatened.

Jordan leads Keeper out of El Dorado down a winding trail of danger and deceit, and that trail won’t end till one of them is lying boots up six feet under.

Character facts

Keeper surely does enjoy a good cup of coffee.

He couldn't love his step-daughter more if she was his own flesh and blood.

He lived by the rule never explain, never apologize....until he got married.

Ketch-up Day

Did you have a good week? Everything okay on your end?

Every day's a healing day here. Our only glitch, the HH needs a $3K piece of equipment for his back that our insurance would pick up but medicare doesn't and our insurance follows medicares guidelines, so.....We'll get it figured out.

AND

Odds and ends from Longwood and the last of the pics.

There's always some type of a fruit tree in bloom inside the conservatory. At least, when I've been there.

I liked the blurred effect;)

AND

I got this with Christmas gift cards.  I'm so excited.  It holds three loads of laundry. I keep it in the closet in place of the dirty clothes bin then just wheel it into the laundry room, hang up the clean clothes after they're washed and fold the rest and wheel it back. It's the little things.

Did you take part in the Goodreads challenge? If you're a reader, it's a fun little thing to do:)

Have a great week.
