Tuesday

Greetings Blog Buds.
My daughter forwarded me this video on what to do when grocery shopping or ordering take out in the midst of the virus crisis. It's quite thorough and makes me realize how much I'm not doing.

More spring tulips

Happy Birthday, Rye.

Friday's Good Read

Beverly has a new young adult book out that involves a guardian angel, a bully and a possible suicide. Take a peak.

Blurb:
Gabe Montana's clumsy. He's overweight, and he's dyslexic. Worse yet,
the bullies make his fifteen-year-old life even more miserable-so
miserable he wants to die.Charley, his guardian angel, says no to that
idea, and comes up with a different plan.

Short Excerpt:
As Gabe moseyed over to join Charley, he mumbled under his breath
trying to figure out if angels truly existed or if his imagination had gone
wild, "I may be slow with my studies, and I may not spell cat and
other words correctly, but I am sure of one thing. Charley, except for
his cowboy boots and hat, looks ethereal, the way Mr. Smith described
the boy in my painting. What exactly does 'ethereal' mean, however?
Not human, right? So, angel works."

Bio:
Most of the time you'll find Beverly Stowe McClure at her computer, typing
stories young voices whisper in her ears. When she's not writing, she's snapping
pictures of wildlife, flowers, and clouds. Or else she's playing with her two
kitties and one doggy. She's sometimes known as the "Bug Lady." She's not
telling why.

Congrats, Beverly.

Did You Know

Did you know, Harriet Beecher Stowe, author of Uncle Tom's Cabin, and Mark Twain were neighbors in an affluent neighborhood in Hartford, Connecticut?

Tuesday

Happy Tuesday!

My daughter and SIL sent me a Belle remembrance.  The mason jar vase came with it.

AND...
My sister sent me these two guardian angel kitties for Captain and Sweet  Belle. Family. Where would we be without them.

The lawn needs mowed. One great thing about not hopping on that was it has given the violets a chance to bloom.
Look familiar? We didn't even bother to go down the TP aisle.

What about you, my blogger buds. Are you staying safe? Got enough paper and hand sanitizer?

AND... Question for the day.
The powers that be say you can't make your own sanitizer from booze because the proof isn't high enough.  I wonder if that applies to White Lightning. Heh. THOUGH, I  did see it could be made with rubbing alcohol and aloe. Lots of differing opinions out there.

AND...Some new portraits from my daughter. I'm just so darn proud of her. If interested in seeing any of her other paintings, you can find her at meghancox.net.

Friday's Good Read

Looking for a new romance book? Good bud and romance author extraordinaire Elizabeth Seckman has recently released another great read:

Blurb:
Hayden Matthews isn’t looking for love—she’s trying to get as far from it as possible. She's already wasted eight years in a failed marriage and is ready for a good life. A peaceful life. One where she can raise her daughter to be strong, independent, and happy. But to make that happen, she must fix her own life first.
Cam Vorelli has loved Hayden since he was in grade school. Always in the friend-zone, he stood on the sidelines, his heart breaking, as she said I do to the wrong man. A man he knew didn’t deserve her, who could never love her as he did. But what could he say? She was marrying into his family. Cam would never break a holy vow much less be disloyal to his kin.
Until he sees the bruises on Hayden. Abuse is a game changer.
Leaving a husband like Tag, who has a hot temper, a badge, and a gun is tricky. When Hayden calls Cam for help, she isn’t trying to lure him into any romantic webs. She needs someone she can trust and knowing her soon-to-be ex fears his former NFL cousin is a bonus.
When Cam comes to her rescue, he isn’t doing it to win her love. He does it because it’s the right thing to do. But if she starts to feel the same for him…couldn’t it be fate?

Did You Know

Did you know, Benjamin Franklin was one of the first proponents of fresh air to fight colds and other 'corruptions' in the air? He and John Quincy were once traveling together and had to share a bed at an inn. Adams wanted the window closed and Franklin wanted it opened. Franklin coaxed him to open it by expounding on his theories of cold, air, perspiration and respiration. Adams was so entertained he fell asleep in spite of the open window.
Information gleaned from David McCullough's John Adams.

Those Darn Stars

I'm back!
The fam's stars haven't quite aligned yet. I may have mentioned that the bro had to have caregivers lined up before they'd do the transplant so my sister and I signed up. The transplant went fine and my sister went down to care give once he was home.  While she was there, his wife--my sis-in-law--was rushing to catch the bus, tripped and rolled both ankles, winding up in the street waiting for an ambulance. She was admitted, diagnosed with two sprains and sent home.
We headed down for our stint, were there a week when the HH landed in the hospital with kidney stones. After, he had surgery and was released, we packed it in and headed home.
Currently: Everyone is on their feet and mobile, after a fashion. Heh.
AND...
My sweet Belle has moved on to her next cycle of life. RIP.
AND...
More Longwood shots:
AND...Our Christmas Roses are still blooming so I guess it's time to start calling them Lenten Roses:)

AND...
The first tulip of the season.

AND...Toilet paper, napkins, tissues and sanitizers have flown off the shelf. Toilet paper was even unavailable at Amazon. I should add an addendum I didn't try to find out if the RV or commercial TPs were available. The HH finally found toilet paper at Big Lots, Big Lots brand. 😑

Kudos to Amazon and E Bay for shutting down the men who bought up ALL the hand sanitizer they could find (over 17,000 bottles) to resell at exorbitant  prices online. They have since donated them and are under investigation for price gouging. I find it difficult to have much sympathy for folks who profits off the hardship of others.  Story here..

What's happening in your corner of the world? Got daffodils? Tulips? Lenten Roses? Hyacinths? Crocuses? Toilet paper?
