THE
AMERICANS ARE COMING: AN APPLEGATE MYSTERY by Sherri Hollister
This
story, about seventeen-year-old Winnie Applegate, is a fast-paced historical
mystery romance that is filled with twists and turns, and constantly moving.
The tension grows as one disaster after another hits Colonel Bill Dexter's Wild
West Extravaganza traveling show—where Winnie works as a trick rider—once word
gets out the show is heading for England. The action builds and the tension
mounts as danger follows the show on land and as they cross the ocean.
Winnie’s world kept me turning
pages. The characters are well-developed, the world-building believable and the
plot holds the reader's interest. The American’s Are Coming is a smooth
read that I thoroughly enjoyed and do not hesitate to recommend.
