Ketch-Up Day

How are you?  What have you been doing?

We took the train to Philadelphia and celebrated Thanksgiving with our lovely daughter and son-in-law. The train was over an hr late getting in which put us on it for over twelve hrs and a good portion of that was spent with no working toilet in our car. Next year I think we are either going to try the sleeper or fly.

Views from the train:

Thanksgiving.
Dinner as always was wonderful. We had a cheese board and crackers, and Christmas movies to see us through the day till dinner.

The squirrels and birds ate well too.

We went to Longwood Gardens Friday. (Pictures to follow.) Then headed home Saturday.

A few days later  we woke up to this:

Nori came to us Thursday.  We already have a problem. I caught her drinking my coffee.

Frank is as big as she is.

Callie is still unnerved and is not impressed that her spot on my lap has been usurped  by the interloper.

That's it for now. Hoping to get one more post out before the Holidays. How are you doing?

Be well.

Ketchup Day

How are you, Blogger Buds? Shopping, wrapping and baking like crazy?  I think I'm through shopping and ready to start wrapping.

I've already received two wonderful bud gifts. I'm awed and amazed at these presents and that they've already been sent out. We do have the tree up and the kitchen centerpiece out. Baby steps:)  A couple of the ornaments are new ones from the HH. Look for a glass cardinal and a glass grey tabby wearing a red Christmas hat:) Oh yes,and the HH has the outside lights up;)

My annual calendar from author D.L. Finn. I love these calendars composed of her photography and verse. Thanks, Denise, this is such a special gift.

This one was a huge surprise. I did ninety percent of my shopping online this year. When I opened this, I blinked several times and thought, I'm sure I didn't order anyone a French Coffee Press. I took another look at the address on the box and noticed it was to Super Sandra and knew immediately it was a gift from Ro. Isn't that woman amazing?  I would have never bought one for myself. Thank you, Rockin Ro.

AND

Here's the last of the Philly pictures. This lovely old street is one of the oldest residentials in Philly. Beautiful isn't it?

The neighborhood pump.

AND last but not least, Frank.

What about you, Blogger Buds, Got your shopping and wrapping done? Baking?

Ketchup Day

The good. The sad. And the ugly.

Greetings Blogger Buds. Hope you had good holidays and or weekend.
We took the train to Philly to spend Thanksgiving with the baby girl and the SIL. It was the first time for us to travel by train and we will probably do it again.

The sad.

We saw two homeless men in separate locations sleeping on wet city streets. So depressing.

The ugly.

Oh my God. Oh my God.   A woman was walking down the street with her bare hinnie hanging out of  her sweat pants.  I'm talking full moon.  It was not a pretty sight. I'm afraid that image is permanently stuck in my brain. Ack. Ack. Ack.

The good.

Our dinner definitely fell under the good category.

 Homemade Butter Squash Pie.

Ever seen blue eggs? Aren't they pretty?

My son-in-law made this bed frame.  Color me awed.

And some fun and fascinating shots.
A manikin.
Statue.
An indoor Bio wall.

I loved this chair.  It's difficult to see with the reflections on the glass.

And,of course, the Liberty Bell.

And last but not least, Philly at night.

How was your weekend/Holiday? Do anything fun?

More pictures next week.

Back To Our Regularly Scheduled Program

Since we spent Thanksgiving in Philly, here's some Philadelphia facts.  Did you know that Philly had the first volunteer fire department, medical school and library in the colonies? And west of town the first Botanical Garden?

AND....
