Ketch-Up Day

How are you? Watcha been doing?

Do those of you outside the U.S. get scammer calls, texts and emails like we do? We are inundated with them. One of those malfeasantes called me at 5:00 a.m. yesterday. And I was on my way to eight hours of sleep, something that seldom happens. AND We've had a couple of weeks of rain. The gauge shows seven inches. Everything is saturated, including the crab grass. It took me three days to get the backyard mowed. The body was willing but the mower was not. It would cough and sputter till it finally stopped and no amount of coaxing, outside of a good long rest would get it started again.  Hopefully, we can keep it from getting in that condition again, even if it means mowing in the wet:)

The flowers are still a bit sparse, but gearing up again:

The butterflies are still a delight.

AND

The white irises are still blooming. Who'd a thought? Oh yes, and my grape hyacinths are coming up.  The flowers are so confused.

AND

From California

Thanks, Denise

From Florida

Thanks, Shane.

That's it from here. What about you, blogger buds?  Do you need to build an Ark yet? Mowing a challenge? Has the weather confused your flowers?

Hope you aren't in the path of Hurricane Erin.

We've had a ton of rain here.

Hi Sandra - no ark here ... but we could with some of your rain - not deluges though. Dry for another week at least, but not so hot. Incredible pics ... and life goes on! Cheers Hilary

Shutting your phone off at night would seem to solve the problem of unwelcome phone calls disturbing your sleep. As to what we have been doing, nothing of great moment - weeding, walking, slurping, burping, pondering, wondering, sleeping, waking, raising butterflies and releasing some, sitting, standing, peeling, paring, opening, closing, and maybe even a few things I don’t want to discuss in public!

Your garden is gorgeous. As to the scam calls. have you tried Nomorobo? We used this when we had a landline. It is also an app for cellphone though I use a different app called Hiya.

Those early scammer calls make my blood boil. I will return the call let them know what time it is and to remove me from their call list. Sorry you didn't get your eight hours, I'm with you that's rare for me too. Beautiful butterfly and flower picks. No rain here but can't wait for it to return.

Love those photos..the clouds are vivid and love the butterfly pics. We need more rain because everything is very dry. We had rain yesterday, thankfully. Oh yes, we get scam calls and people have been taken because some claim to be income tax telling people they owe money and better pay or else. We get calls also but, one time, when they called, after 9pm, I stayed on the line until a person came on and told them that according to the Ministry of Consumer Services, you can only call between 7am to 9pm and this means you went against the legal rules..and they hung up and I never got a call from them again ( it was one of those “Captain calling you won a trip…). I’d check out the rules that collection agencies etc..must adhere to. I bet they are not allowed to call this early.
On another note, My friend’s grandmother carried a whistle and when they called, she would blow the whistle into the phone. I think that’s a great way to deal with them.

David, Shutting off the phone is definitely a solution, but I do worry about emergency calls.
The raising and releasing of butterflies sound fun. LOL on the rest.
