On Mother's Day, I historically post on Scarlet. To me, she exemplifies every sacrifice a mother can make for her young.
To all the wonderful Mother's out there and women who step in to fill that slot...hope your day is wondrous.

I started to cry seeing this. I have heard about this wonderful cat before. We can all learn from her. It sounds like one of the kittens didn't make it. I hope Scarlett was not mourning this loss. I am also so happy they all found loving homes. The lady who took Scarlett in deserves a medal. All people who take in special needs animals deserve recognition
that cat is such a heroine!

You are right, Birgit, it takes a special person to take in special needs. My understanding is that Scarlet needed eye drops every day for the rest of her life. But in return she brought her care giver much joy:)

Amazing but also sad that after all that, she was adopted and her kittens went elsewhere. Though in the beginning, I thought they said one person wanted to take them all, so I'm not sure how it went.
They went to different homes. But from everything I've read she was well loved and content to the end of her days and was mourned when she passed.
