Magnificent Seven.
Yes they were.
We hooked up with a bud and went to Davidson to a little theater that has tables and comfortable chairs, and you can order pizza and sandwiches from the concession stand.
Magnificent Seven was a well done, diverse background, hold-your-interest movie. Though, a tad bit violent for my taste.
*Spoiler alert. Eating a raw deer liver (At least that's what the HH thought it was. I was too busy hiding my eyes)is not something a vegetarian needs to be seeing:) But once I recovered from that, I sank into the plot. It was fun watching the 'old western style' trick riding and fancy six gun shooting. The whole cast did a great job. Overall, I enjoyed it.

It was violent and bloody enough I thought it was R rated. I was surprised when I realized it was only PG-13.
It was an enjoyable ride indeed.

Friday night we watched Red Sox and then caught up on The Blacklist
I believe in the legends, it is the hearts that get eaten. But the HH said the same thing you did and I wasn't watching:)
It is a neat little theater. Clean, comfortable, great popcorn and for those that want an alcoholic beverage with their meal, they serve beer and wine.
Chris was a hoot. I was hoping his character would end more along the lines of the first movie.
We had that discussion on the rating too.
Oh, glad to hear it was good. I want to see it. Very little violence I can't watch these days, though I used to not be able to watch any. Cape Fear scared me to death back then. I've become desensitized to violence now, though if I were to see it in real life, I'd just die.
Oh no, I’m not sure I could cope with the ‘deer liver’ although the little theatre sounds enticing. I’ve been trying to remember just what I did on Friday evening – as I have no memory of it, I guess it was supper and a bit of TV. Those kinds of evenings tend to run one into the other.
This remake is getting good reviews although I know I will still like the 1960 remake (of the Seven Samurai). I don't think I could ever eat raw deer liver.....yuck. Friday night was grocery night and we rented movies so we watched The Nice Guys which was a lot of fun. I can see remakes and a TV show from this. The other 2 films were Criminal-really liked that film and Hail Caesar-I thought it was excellent. I know why it didn't do well...need to know your film history to get a lot of the jokes and irony.
We just had a quiet at home on Friday night. And that was long needed and very good. Made a great dinner and just enjoyed being lazy!

Even better, Native Americans took buffalo liver and sprinkled the gall bladder bile on it for flavoring. Never have eaten it much other than foi de gras.In Czech they made a liver dumpling soup that wasn't too bad.
we did sum thin diffrunt on fryday nite....we sleeped on diffrunt cat bedz !!! ☺☺☺☺♥♥♥

The theater is all sorts of fun. We've been there twice now.
The deer liver did not appeal.
Evenings due tend to run together.
Friday night is usually grocery shopping night at our house too, commonly referred to as date night. Ha ha. The excitement is just non stop here.

The original was inspired by Seven Samurai, a really good film from Japan
I'm of two minds about this remake of a remake...the 1960 "Magnificent Seven" with Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson and Co., with its soundtrack by the magnificent Elmer Bernstein still remains in my mind.
In my opinion, and it's my opinion only...I think some remakes are unnecessary! I just hope no one thinks they have to re-do "Gone with the Wind"!!! ;)

I can't imagine a remake of Gone with the Wind. Hmmm, I wonder if they did a remake who they'd have...
I don't know if this is a movie I'd like, but your review is great. I watched The Revenant when it came out on DVD. It gave me a lifetime's worth of eating gross stuff.

I've actually been really interested in this one. I was raised on spaghetti westerns (among other things) and this one grabbed my attention. I've concluded though I have to wait for it to come out because my wife doesn't care to see it. haha
