Eastern Swallowtail and Friend

And friend....

May the wings of the butterfly kiss the sun.
And find your shoulder to light on.
To bring you luck, happiness and riches.
Today, tomorrow and beyond.

One tried to land on me yesterday. It must've thought I was a flower.

What lovely pics Sandra! A great way to start off a Monday. I remember a few years ago when a yellow butterfly actually landed on my finger and hung out awhile. That's when I really started paying attention to the beauty of butterflies. Happy Monday! Hugs...

Love the pictures and we have a butterfly bush and have butterflies and bees all around them. Yesterday, our pussy cat, Lucy, who stays on our property and never takes off, was outside and right I. Front of me, caught this butterfly! I thought for sure the butterfly was toast but it got away and flew away I am happy to say.

I used to see such great creatures of God when I was a child, in my grandparents' garden Flying over brilliant flowers and landing for a couple of seconds on them.
Now all is gone - grandparents, garden, flowers and butterflies.
Thank you for a, for me, a melancholic reminder of my youth!
Have a lovely week!

Glad you butterfly survived. Monster Kitty caught one too the other day. I had to pry it out of his mouth. Surprisingly it managed to fly away.

So pretty! There are so many poetic things we can say about butterflies. They're beautiful and free. One landed on my shoulder once, though, and I swear it HURT. Nobody believed me!

Sounds like there's a story to be written about that encounter, Steph:)

I took Franklin to the vet today for his wellness exam. They had a black kitty who needs a home. Franklin begged me to adopt him. I had to say no.
