While the surgery was going on, we took care of his sister and the critters. On one of our outings, this is what we saw:
Did anyone else see it? This picture really doesn't do it justice. It was like a chunk of the rainbow or a piece of a prism. I've never seen anything like it. Has anyone else?
We also took 'Ariel' Trick R Treating which was a hoot. The whole neighborhood was definitely in Halloween mode. It was like a big block party. There were many witches and goblins, standing on elaborately tricked out porches in the middle of spookily decorated yards, handing out candy. Trick or Treating Families abounded. One family was dressed as the Adams' Family. Someone had a Golden Retriever dressed as a lion with them. Everyone was enjoying themselves from babies to grandparents.
Pixabay. Not a neighborhood shot. |
But enough about my corner of the world. What have you been doing, friends, while I've been gone?
A VERY belated
To Andrew
That's all folks.

SO glad you are back and what great news that the surgery was a success. I'm really pleased for you. Too bad you didn't get any photos of how others celebrated Halloween, but I suspect some may have felt a bit intimidated.
Nope, I've never seen a prism like that. Thanks for sharing it with us, though.
Happy birthday to the birthday peeps and happy new arrival.
I am thrilled that the surgery was a success - and would have loved to see a Golden Retriever as a lion.
Happy birthday to those you featured and congrats to Crystal.
Good to hear all is well with your grandson. The sky photo looks rather cool. Thanks for the birthday wishes.
Welcome back Sandra pleased the surgery went well.
Great post.
Yvonne.
So glad to hear the surgery went well, that's a huge relief. Love that sky shot, really fabulous. Have a great, new week, hugs, Valerie
Hi Sandra - glad the surgery was a success and I'm sure you helped hugely giving the family relief from worry about general living. Glad you enjoyed the Halloween ... and yes that cloud formation is interesting with its rainbow prism. Have a good week - cheers Hilary
Glad the surgery went well! And that photo is beautiful. Can only imagine how much more amazing that rainbow looked in person! Also, a neighborhood going into Halloween mode sounds like so much fun. (You would have no idea it's Halloween in my own neighborhood, sadly; no trick-or-treaters or anything...)
That is such good news Sandra. I’m so pleased all went well.
I’ve never seen a sky quite like that one. It looks beautiful.
Happy birthday to those you mention and congratulations to Crystal.
Awesome that the surgery went good. Halloween sounds like it was in full swing there, here it was rather pitiful lol
Welcome back! Great to hear the surgery went well.
Always cool to see a rainbow prism in the clouds.
So happy that all is well Sandra...welcome back! Happy dance for you and your family!!!
I believe it is called a "sun dog." They are beautiful...stunning.
Big Hugs 💕💞
Welcome home! So glad things went well and now onto a speedy recovery for your grandson. Sounds like Halloween was a fun celebration where you were. Very quiet here. No trick or treaters. the problem with living in a rural area with no sidewalks or safe lighting.
Wonderful you are home and everything went well.
We don't get trick or treaters anymore. Ours used to be the neighborhood everyone came to, but not anymore.
Good to hear all went well. I like the outdoor idea for tricksters, a neighbor does a spook house in their yard and garage every year
Glad to hear the surgery went well. We had only a few trick-or-treaters at my house. Congrats to Crystal.
Welcome home, glad things went well and Halloween sounds like it went fabulously!
I don't think I've seen a part rainbow before
That was quite a lot Sandra. I enjoyed Halloween too and glad everything came out alright. It's a good day so far.
Thanks for the birthday wishes, and glad the surgery went well. :)
Glad the surgery went well. That rainbow-thing is amazing. No, I've not seen anything like that before.
Happy Dance!! I am so happy the surgery went well!!! I have never seen what you took a picture of in the sky before! It is truly amazing! Like a gift for you to only see! What a beautiful, priceless site!!
Glad you had a great Halloween! Sounds like a lot of fun!!
Happy Birthday everyone and Congrats to Crystal for her new little one!
Big Hugs Sandra!
(Thank you for the comment about the Christmas cards! It's to find a good place, that's not to expensive, but still looks good. The places I like, the cards would almost be $2.00 a piece, if not a little more. I think that's a lot. We will see! Thanks again for your kind comments!)
Thank you, Elizabeth. The surgery results were a huge relief. The prism was awesome and Halloween fun.
Heading to your blog.
Thanks so much, EC:) I'm happy:)
The dog really did look like a lion. It was great;)
Have a colorful day.
So happy that he came through with flying colours. Taking out your little granddaughter must have been fun to let loose with the anxiety of what your grandson had to go through. My mom is doing well! She is one strong lady. We only had 35 kids...we used to have 130! I had to work late so I didn't do anything for Halloween so I am glad to hear that your area was so much fun. Hope your week ahead will be a relaxing one
Thank you, Andrew. Good news indeed.
Keep partying down;)
Thank you so much, Yvonne. Me too;)
A big Whew on the surgery, Val.
Glad you liked the sky shot.
You have a great week too. Hugs back,
Thanks so much, Hilary.
The prism fascinated me:)
YOU, have a good week too.
Thank you, Heather. The success of the surgery was a huge relief.
The piece of rainbow truly was amazing.
Sorry you aren't getting trick r treaters:( It was amazing in their neighborhood. Bowls of candy out on the porches, spooky music playing, orange lights, spooky decorations and everyone out in droves.
Welcome home. I certainly haven't done anything as exciting as Crystal having a new baby.
Love,
Janie
That's called a Sundog and they are pretty darned hard to see. Feel like you are chosen! I've only seen one twice (and I always look!)
So very glad the surgery went well. What a huge relief. And glad you are back home safe and sound. Hugs, j
Thank you so much, Barbara. Best news ever.
That's the first time I had seen the sky like that too.
Have a good one.
x
Thanks, Pat. It was sure a relief.
It was a fun Halloween experience.
Thanks, Alex. Good to be back. We were very pleased with the outcome of the surgery:)
It most definitely was fun to see the prism.
Thank you so much, Jan. Happy dancing right with ya:)
Also thanks on the sun dog info. Good to know. I'd never seen one before.
Hugs back

Thank you so much. Glad the surgery is in the rearview mirror.
Halloween was fun. We don't get that many trick or treaters where we live either:(
Thank you, Di. It's great to be home and it truly is wonderful that the surgery went well.
Are they doing more trunk and treat in your area?
Thanks, Steve.
Sounds like your neighbor enjoys the holidays;)
Thank you, Jamie. Me too!
Sorry you didn't have more trick or treaters. I know you were geared up.
Thank you so much for the welcome home, Christine, and the good wishes. Halloween was fun:)
I never had either, Adam. It was amazing.
Glad you had a good Halloween.
Thanks for the good wishes, Donna.
Hope it was wondrous and that you are still celebrating.
On the surgery: me too! ;)
Hugs,
Thanks, Annalisa. It was a relief.
Jeanie and Jan are saying it's a sun dog and it was amazing.
Thank you. We were thrilled with the outcome of the surgery.
The sun dog was so exciting and Halloween was fun.
Keep me posted. Those little crows will make an amazing Christmas card.
Sounds like both our families are doing well, Birgit:)
I wonder if more kids are doing the trunk and treat.
Thanks for the relaxing wishes, sounds good to me and right back at ya.
Glad to hear that, Janie:) I'm happy to say our excitement hasn't reached that level either. Grin.
Thanks, Jeanie, for all of the above.
Hugs,
PS If you have an opportunity to stop by Crystal's she has pictures. The baby is a real cutie.
I will my friend! If I do them, I will be leaving them blank inside, do you agree?
Aw, thanks so much, Sandra!
I'm glad the surgery was a success. Now the joys of recovery, eh?
Great to see you back.
Great news that the surgery was a success.
Fantastic!
All the best Jan

Yay! Welcome back, and glad things went well! Happy birthday to Sonya and Andrew and congrats for the new baby to Crystal. It's really thrilling to know that an entire neighborhood got into the spirit and celebrated with family and friends to have such a great time. That warms my heart. Who didn't adore the Addams Family, right? (lol) Hugs...RO
Oops, I forgot! That picture of the sky is fantastic and needs to be on a postcard. Hugs...RO
