It's Monday

AND....

My favorite dressing for years and years was Ranch.  Then I started adding fruit to my salad and wanted something a little sweeter. I discovered Strawberry Balsamic and now I'm hooked. Have you ever tried it? For those that count calories it's only 40 calories per two tablespoon..

What's your favorite dressing? Or are you like the HH who doesn't use dressing?

I make my own dressings. Olive oil, vinegar (often balsamic), herbs... whatever comes to mind.

I am not a dressing fan, but make a balsamic dressing for visitors. Have a great week, hugs, Valerie

We don't call farms the name ranch here, so ranch dressing sounds very American. Nevertheless, when I have Subway, ranch dressing is quite nice. My partner has started making his own dressing, and very nice it is. Balsamic dressing is nice, but wouldn't the balsamic overpower the strawberries?

Never eat dressing here at our sea. We feel the same about Mondays though haha

Great.

No dressing on our salads except maybe a drizzle of Light Olive Oil.
Retired...Monday is just a day of the week here.
BTW, have a great week Sandra!!!

Hugs ❤❤❤

No dressing? The horror...
Thousand Island is my favorite.

Another neat topic, Super Sandra! My fave is Blue Cheese Dressing, which is not really all that healthy(lol), so I switched it up to lemon juice, vinegar, and a touch of olive oil. I don't mind telling you that I have so many dressings that I picked up for FREE because of coupon shopping, so once a week, I add a drizzle of something I'm probably not supposed to have. (lol) Now I need to check out the Strawberry Balsamic, which sounds pretty yummy. Happy Monday and Hugs...RO

I don't use a lot of dressing. 2 Tablespoons seems like a whole bottle to me. I like Balsamic dressings the best. I've had Raspberry Balsamic, but not Strawberry.

I'm a Ranch fan too. Everything taste good with a little Ranch on it..lol Have you tried Ranch on pizza? OMGosh good... I like many different kinds though.. Remember Green Goddess? Thousand Island, Honey Mustard, Italian.. I always try to get the low calorie version as i know i like too much on my salads but otherwise i'd just rather not have a salad.. Hugs! deb

I often use a balsamic since it's lower in calories. I'm not sure I have a favorite. It depends on the salad.

Sandra Cox said...

Oh yum. Homemade dressing is definitely the best!

Blue cheese. I've given up on calorie restriction.

Sandra Cox said...

Ooh, more homemade dressing. I love it and will be right over:)
Hugs received and returned.

Well, if I had my choice I'd go blue cheese. But that's rare and special occasions only! Mostly, just a Caesar vinaigrette.

Sandra Cox said...

I always get Ranch when I get a sub at Subway too.
I think the strawberries in the balsamic is a good blend with neither overpowering. Let me know what you think if you try it.

Sandra Cox said...

Ha! :)

Glad you liked, Regine:)

I love olive oil. I drizzle it on my popcorn.
I probably should have added on that pic, 'for those in the workforce:)'
Thank you and you, Jan.

I sometimes put a small amount of salad cream on my salad (do you have that over your way, or is it a British thing?) Or sometimes, nothing at all - I love the taste of the vegetables all on their own!

Sandra Cox said...

Thousand Island was my favorite back in the day....way back in the day:)

I was just thinking that I wanted a different taste in my salad dressing. I might have found it. Thanks.

I've tried making balsamic vinegar dressings. Maybe I'm doing something wrong cause I just don't care for the taste. I like raspberry vinaigrette. (thank goodness for spell check). I've been making 1000 Island. Got it down to a science, but not low calorie. I've noticed corn syrup as the first ingredient in many dressings, so plan to make more of my own...some day. We have tons of lettuce in our garden...soooo good, but still like dressing on the salad even if the lettuce is so fresh. Love the cat photo. I love Mondays!

Sandra Cox said...

I bet you have the best choice of dressings of any hostess in the area:)
The one dressing I can't do is Blue Cheese. That mold is just too blatant.
Happy Monday, Rockin Ro.

I like Balsamics too, CJ. Good for you for using the minimum on dressings.

Sandra Cox said...

Oh yeah, I'm a Ranch on pizza girl too:)
Those are all good dressings you mentioned. Yum.

Sandra Cox said...

There is that. I wouldn't use the strawberry on a strictly vegetable salad. I like the olive oil and balsamic too. And I do have a weakness for Ranch:)

Sandra Cox said...

Right there with ya, Donna.

Sandra Cox said...

It seems to be pretty popular, but I just can't do Blue Cheese:(

I like Kraft strawberry vinaigrette.

Sandra Cox said...

Hi Annalisa,
I'm unfamiliar with salad cream. What exactly is it?

Annalisa Crawford said...

Um... I've just googled to see if you had any kind of equivalent and apparently you have something called Miracle Whip which is similar. It's a thicker, tastier, slightly more vinegary version of mayonnaise.

When I was younger it was ranch, ranch, and more ranch. Now, I make an oil and vinegar dressing and that's it! I do make a ranch dressing, too, but just use it for dipping veggies.

Sandra Cox said...

Let us know what you think if you try it, Lee.

Sandra Cox said...

I would LOVE to have some good lettuce. The heads were so bad where I shopped this winter that I was forced to turn to spinach. And as far as making salad dressings...I'm great at opening bottles:)

I like Lite Raspberry Vinaigrette, it too has 40 calories. I like to put fresh fruit in my salads as well. Raspberries, strawberries and blueberries are so yummy.

Sandra Cox said...

Homemade Ranch Dressing, sounds wondrous.

Sandra Cox said...

That sounds good too, Christine.

Sandra Cox said...

Ranch is wonderful as a dip isn't it?

Sandra Cox said...

Definitely yummy.
My current faves are: peaches, Honeycrisp apples and grapes.

Love ms. Pussycat sleeping away. I can’t have sweet dressing and I a man trying hard to stick to my hypoglycaemic diet...bummer. I do like Paul Newman’s oil and vinegar dressing which is the only one that has no sugar in it. Otherwise I try to make my own

I am a Hidden Valley ranch person. No other brand, please, unless it's some I make myself.

For salads that need a bit of sweetness, I prefer honey mustard or poppyseed.

That's an adorable cat. Squiggles thinks so, too!

Hope your Monday was great.

Sandra Cox said...

Gotcha! Thanks for taking the time to look this up, Annalisa.

Sandra Cox said...

PS I have had salad dressing on lettuce before. It's not bad.

Sandra Cox said...

Ranch is definitely in a class of its own. If I don't use fruit in a salad, which is rare, I want Ranch:)
Homemade salad dressing, yum.

Sandra Cox said...

Thank you, Yvonne:) Hope yours was too.

I'm trying to be really good with my dressings! My mom hardly uses any, but I need some! Thanks for the heads up! I have to look for Strawberry Balsamic! Hope you've been having a good week so far! Big Hugs!

I have never had that combination Sandra. Sounds so good! Share the recipe next time, please!

There are a good variety of dressings aren't there ... but I also enjoy just a drizzle of olive oil.

All the best Jan

Sandra Cox said...

Yes I have. Hope you have.
For some reason strawberry balsamic is hard to find, Stacy.
We went to 2 different stores and neither carried it.

Sandra Cox said...

Thanks;)

Sandra Cox said...

Good for you, Jan! I bet it brings out the flavor of the vegetables.
