This That And No! Really?

THIS....
I've been sending hints to my daughter to paint this photograph that I took of a ceramic pitcher that she made and the pepper that I grew. Wouldn't it make a great painting for the kitchen?  I framed it to give you a feel for what it would look like.

THAT....
I decided to add some blue to my tulip bed. The newbies are phlox and love full sun. They should do fine this spring but when summer arrives so will shade from the butterfly bush. Toes-crossed they'll survive and thrive. Though I'll settle for just survive:)

AND...
I found this little nest in one of the bushes by the garden.  Thank goodness the parents-to-be realized this wasn't a safe neighborhood to bring little ones into and moved out before they started a family.

NO! REALLY?

As most of you know, our fence is set up to keep the cats inside. Let me just say this is not our cat. Apparently, besides keeping our cats in, it keeps other cats out. I'm still not sure how he got up there. After whining pitifully for a few minutes about his predicament he did jump down. With that paw on the rail it looks like he's posing doesn't it?

It would make an excellent painting. Love the splash of colour in your garden. And your keep cats in/out fence. That poor moggy looked as if he knew that your cats were treated the way he wanted all cats to be treated.

The photo would look great painted, that' true. Your garden is looking great. And cats are just a law unto themselves, as always. Hugs, Valerie

Hey that's a fantastic way to hint to your daughter by including it on your blog and we all agree it would make a great painting!
That cat does look like he feels he missed out on all the excitement big time I pleased the nest was abandoned when you found it!

Cats will find a way.
Even if she doesn't paint, the shot looks good in the frame.

I think your garden must be quite nice. Assuming the photo is of reasonable quality, why not have it printed at a large size? Maybe daughter painting it is cheaper and makes her feel helpful.

Hopefully she takes the hint. haha poor guy sure got a bit stuck. Probably wanted to hop the fence to see what was on the other side and then oops.

Hints don't always work and it takes much too long. Just ask her and maybe if she has the time, it will happen. Looks good as a photo too.

Your pitcher and pepper would make a great still life painting. The blue phlox really give the tulip bed a pop of color. Poor kitty just wanted to come over to play.

Like the pitcher and pepper. All great photos today.

I don't know that a painting could look better than your photo. Spring has come here and I am so happy.

Thanks, EC. You make me smile.

You should frame that picture you made for real because it looks like a painting. I hope she does create a painting for you. I love your colour combo with the tulip style and the blue flox. Glad the birdies didn’t make a family there but look at that pussy cat! He didn’t realize he could not get in but I’m glad he safely made it down

Cats are a law unto themselves, for sure, Val. I think they consider closed doors and fences that keep them out a personal challenge:)

Hi Wren,
My daughter's pretty slammed right now. I'm hinting for Christmas:) I'll wait a bit then hint again:)
I'm relieved the birds moved on too:)

How beautiful a painting would be of "the pitcher and the pepper!" And so very special if the artist was your daughter. I hope that it happens for you.
Your garden is lovely and cheerful. And that birds nest...so darling.
Kitty better watch where he is climbing. He could get caught with no one around to help him :)

Big Hugs Always

Love that blue withyour new flowers.I had one cat who was a jumper and then too fat to jump back over the fence.

Yes to the painting of the pitcher and the pepper! Good luck with keeping cats corralled anywhere. I find it impossible.

Cats sure do, Alex.
Thanks:)

the pitcher your daughter made is awesome !! hopefully she sells her work; she has a talent that's for sure. I've worked in ceramic; not always easy. The last piece I made
was used as a door stop; it was supposed to be a bulldog...mom hadn't the heart to say "nice lump of fired clay" ☺☺♥♥

Well, I think this post is filled with ideas! Ideas for art (that fabulous photo! It deserves to be painted!) and the great idea for the fence to keep the cats in! (And out). Wonderful photo.

That photograph would certainly make a great painting.

Love the colours in your garden.

Had to laugh at the cat photograph!

Happy April Wishes

All the best Jan

Thank you so much, Andrew. It's a work in progress:)
I wish a painting was cheaper. Heh. I bought the baby girl a tube of paint for Christmas and nearly needed resuscitation when I saw the price. Ha. I'm confident she'll do me this teensy tiny favor when time allows. Heh Heh.

Yes, hopefully:)
They really are curious aren't they, Pat?

Sandra Cox said...

They certainly don't work with the HH. I gave up on subtly many years ago. Grin.

A woman after my own heart! I think they'd make a great still life too, CJ:)
I love that deep blue don't you? Hope it survives but I'm not real hopeful.

Yes, that painting would look great. I also need to device something to keep the cats in!

Thanks, Birgit.
Glad the birdies decided our rental wasn't what they wanted:)
Yes, the kitty made it down just find, then hung out with me for a little while:)

Sandra Cox said...

Thank you so much, Jan.
Cats are notorious for climbing up and deciding they can't get down aren't they? Maybe he had to see if the grass was really greener...and in our case till we get the grass seed down it's definitely not. Heh heh.

Ha.
Aren't cats something? I had one that would eye the spindles on the staircase then jump through them. He never missed. It was the most amazing thing.

Can't wait to see your daughter's painting!

Sandra Cox said...

Ha. It's always exciting, that's for sure:)

Sandra Cox said...

Ha! I'm sure your bulldog turned out much better than you're letting on.
My daughter did ceramics in college but now she just paints.
