Happy Birthday

Today's your day. Note the card. It's in the mail:)

AND....
We still have power and no downed trees. So far we have been very lucky. There have been nearly twenty fatalities in the Carolinas from Florence. In North Carolina there are huge pockets of flooding, it's still raining (though it's closer to moving through) and the rivers haven't crested yet.  Travelers are being asked to avoid the entire state.

UPDATE: The sun is shining! The rain has stopped! And I saw butterflies. We may get a little more but, except for cresting rivers,  the worst is over. We have been very lucky, especially compared to those in other areas of N and SC.

  5. Yeah, our area is a mess. (We're all right though.) Florence sucks and she can just get the heck out of Dodge.

  6. I can't believe the route they are telling people to take to avoid NC - all the way into TN and down through Atlanta. But I-95 is impassable right now and so are a lot of other roads.

    1. It's stunning isn't it. On the late evacuations, my thoughts were where are people supposed to go and how do they get there?

  7. Happy Birthday Jacob 🎂🎁🎈

Hurricanes, a terrible thing happening in our country and super typhoons across the oceans. Global warming is a reality and I also believe that God is a bit pissed with mankind's hatred of his fellow man ☮✌

    1. Global warming is indeed a reality and if we don't get a handle on it immediately it's going to be too late.
And, unfortunately, we do seem to have taken hatred to a new level.

  9. Happy Birthday to Jacob. I've been watching the news coverage of Florence. So scary. Glad that you are safe. Florence is coming north and will bring some tropical downpours to my house on Tuesday.

  14. Watching this from the other side of the country, we could only pray. Then go to American Red Cross site to donate.

  15. I'm glad you came through unscathed. Hurricanes (called "cyclones" down this way are terrifying. To be in their path is not fun. I've experienced a couple when I was living in the northern areas of this state in which I live.

    1. I hope it changes soon too, Stacy. Many areas of NC are still under water and now the tornadoes are sweeping through the states. And it sounds like other areas of the world are getting smacked too. Yikes.

      On a better note....Happy Birthday.
