Monday-Tuesday

Did you have a wondrous Thanksgiving?
We had a wonderful one with the DD and DSIL. They kindly did all the cooking. All I was responsible for was the fudge and Republican Cookies. Heh. (Laura Bush's Cowboy Cookies). DD made this pumpkin pie and it was delicious.

AND...
How do you like my new book model? Since he's family it's pro bono. Heh.

SO...I decided I wasn't going to get into the Black Friday frenzy, but I noticed that our local, favorite Southern department store was having a blow out sale. I changed my mind and cautiously ventured out. As you can imagine it was packed.
I was stunned by how friendly and courteous everyone was. Case in point: You know how frustrating it is trying to buy men's jeans at anytime. You can find the waist size but not the length or vice versa. I had two other customers that were looking for jeans too and asked what size I was looking for. The second person that asked was holding a pair of jeans and when I told her the size, handed them to me. I swear I clutched my heart.  It was a Happy Shopper moment.

What about you? Do you often run into courteous shoppers and if so where?

I am glad you had not only a wonderful Thanksgiving but also a positive shopping experience.
I have almost total sales resistance (except for books and plants) and avoid shopping if at all possible.

It is great to read your Thanksgiving was not just wonderful, but filled with good food, too. I'm like Elephant's Child and resist shopping except for groceries. And I never, ever shop online. I'm delighted you had a good shopping experience for Black Friday. I decorated my house for Christmas and saved many a headache!

Positive and shopping going together on black friday? The world is going to end.

You always hear horror stories about shoppers on Black Friday so that was nice you met some friendly ones. I only shopped two places that day and both were online.

You brave soul! I never venture out on Black Friday!!!
So happy you got those jeans :)

We supplied the house and veggies and our granddaughter and grandson made our delicious meal! Our granddaughter's in-laws did the yummy baking. In all, we had twenty-two people and two turkeys...the turkeys didn't stay long :)

Hugs 🎄

Somebody needs to mass bake some "funny brownies" for the next GOP convention.

I only went to Goodwill and lunch at Burger King last Friday. Both were hardly busy.I didn't venture out that day until after noon, since it was raining on and off.

Hi Sandra! Sorry, I'm behind in blog land! So happy you had a great Thanksgiving! That pie looks so yummy! Love your new book model! LOL! That was excellent for black friday! I have been working it for the past 4 days and I have to admit, every customer, except for one, were all excellent and very happy! And, I have to admit, the customers were helping each other too! So nice to see! Big Hugs!

It sounds like a wonderful Thanksgiving and a tasty one, too. Nice that the shoppers were good on Black Friday. I never seem to find really rude ones here. All pretty nice (but then, I don't go out on Black Friday, either!)

I'm a big online shopper too. I don't go out like I used to. When my mom was alive it was a Thanksgiving trad that the family would go shopping together day after Thanksgiving. Though that was before everything got so crazy on that day.

Sandra Cox said...

Hmmm. That would save about a gazillion calories. What's your addie…..:)

Sandra Cox said...

Twenty-two people. Wow. Sounds like you have a healthy-sized family. Bet you have a great time when you're together.

I can't believe that convention is going to be in Charlotte.
What were they thinking? That's going to make for a volatile situation.

Find any goodies at Goodwill?

I stay clear of shopping at the best of times let alone Black Friday, but your experience sounds good.
So pleased Thanksgiving was good.

All the best Jan

I had an unpleasant experience yesterday at the mall it was busy enough for the midday, but a rude young mom pushing a stroller. I was in the way.

It's the only store I went in, so it worked out:)

Way too often, crowds take the fun out of the equation for sure.

It belies my post today.

I’m glad you had a great thanksgiving and the pie looks good even though I am not done for Pumpkin pie. I have run into very nice salespeople often which is always nice

It was the best pumpkin pie ever.
Sales people make all the difference, don't they? I was in the kid's section of a department store today, which was in a separate building and had only one woman in the building and she didn't know how to use the register. My things were rung up wrong and she couldn't figure out how to correct it. She had to call the store and ask someone to come over. I gave up and left. It wasn't her fault, but it was frustrating.
