June 3 question- Writers have secrets! What are one or two of yours, something readers would never know from your work?

Hmm. Well all that I can say to that question is that if I did have secrets mind you, they would no longer be secrets if they were shared๐Ÿ˜Š

I can tell you my routine. I try to keep three works in the hopper. I work on one story for a month then switch to another.  I try, and I emphasize try, to write every day, so by the second or third week, I’m starting to get ansy, my mind  and muse both wandering. By the end of the month I’m ready for a break and switch to another story. The following month I switch to the third story, then the next month come back to story number one.

AND…May’s reviews.

HOWLING AT THE MOON by Wolf Pack Authors

A diverse group of short stories from sci-fi to mystery to fantasy to children's stories. This anthology is packed with fascinating reads. Best of all:  the proceeds go to the relief efforts in Australia for the floods and fires.

THIS LAST CHANCE By D. L. Finn

A suspenseful paranormal about the fight of good and evil.

This story takes place on two levels, human and paranormal and makes for an intriguing subplot. Reporter Amber Dodges is determined to get to the bottom of her twin sister’s murder, unaware she is about to play a role in the survival of the country. Nor does she know that the death of her sister was caused by powerful evildwels, evil beings that use humans for hosts. As the story builds, it also chills and will have the reader looking over his/her shoulder. A suspenseful paranormal about the fight of good and evil.

THE THIRD FACTOR: THESTONEHENGE CHRONICLES By S.P. Brown

This is the second book in the Stonehenge Chronicles. Reading the books in order is recommended. The story centers on a woman who can decipher a set of special runes and her triplet teenage daughters who possess magical powers. The girls are on a quest to find their mother who appears to have been captured by enemies. Their mode of transportation: tunnels they create with their mind.

Definitely a magical read.

The Poem We Have Not Written

Michael Cox

It’s out there somewhere.

Hints of it are everywhere:

The mysterious eye

Glimpsed through a thicket,

A gaunt child turning a corner

And disappearing,

A seductive cord heard briefly,

Triggering an incomplete memory.

It’s out there wanting to live,

To mirror the heat of the sun,

Gather the cool of the evening,

To dance in glorious colors,

Matchless tempo,

Sublime footwork.

Come muse,

Call us out

From the darkness.

Only three works on the go at once? Goodness you are lazy. Not.
And thanks for the bookie temptation as well.

I'm amazed that you have three stories going at the same time. I'd do good if I had one good story in me. Sounds like you have recommended some good books.

I admire those who can hop around stories. I'd get confused.

Your secret is how you manage to produce so many books.

My mind would be a jangled mess trying to write 3 stories at a time. I don't have that many compartments in my brain. !!! Thanks for introducing us to new reads.

I have no secrets but half the time I don't know what I'm doing.I also write best on my feet, walking -- pulling together the piece I'm working on.Then when I get home I can type it in.

I love that method of yours, but it wouldn't work for me, although i have written several projects at a time. It was never that organized. And I'm an organized person! :)

Three books at once--good grief. I have three on Keep, where I take notes, in case I get an inspiration, but I wouldn't call it writing them! I'm glad you do, though, because I'm ready for the next.

Indeed.

That sounds like a good method. I may try it. Rotation is the key to success. Who knew? :-)

Like you, I switch around among different stories. It keeps things fresh for me.

Always love to offer temptation. Heh. Did you notice the anthology was going toward fire and flood relief in Aussie land?

Sandra Cox said...

Thanks, Natalia. You too.

I did. And thank them. Sadly we need it, and will again later this year I fear.

To be fair, the third is still a twinkle in the author's eye:)
Definitely some good reads this month:)

That's pretty cool ๐Ÿ‘ to learn a little more about your writing process. This may not be secret,๐Ÿ˜ but it's not well known that I used to sing in LIVE bands and choirs. Hugs RO ❤️

Having stories you can hop to when writing becomes hard or we get answer can really help to keep the creativity flowing.

3 on the go is the way to be indeed. Great verse too.

You hop around like my hubby does when he works on a room. The big problem....my husband still has to finish the bathroom, upstairs, bedroom, yardages yadda....

Sandra Cox said...

I've tried thinking through plots when walking, unfortunately it doesn't work for me:(

Sandra Cox said...

I envy you organization. One of my ongoing goals in life is to be more organized. It's usually just out of reach:)

Sandra Cox said...

There ya go making me smile. I count your notes, outline, etc as having them in the hopper:) And here's back at ya as far as being ready for the next one.

Sandra Cox said...

Please let me know if you try it and if it works for you, Anna:)
