Tuesday

Greetings Blogger Buds. Hope all the dad's out there had a wonderful Father's Day.

Has anyone tried this yet? It's a hoot. You turn in a paragraph of your writing, the software analyzes the paragraph and determines which famous author your writing most closely aligns with. Mine was Ian Fleming. 😂 You can use journal entries, etc.  Give it a go and let us know which famous writer your writing aligns with:)

AND...Does your swing sing? For three summers now, Carolina Wren's have nested in the swing frame. The current youngsters are twittering up a storm. I love hearing them.

AND...
The War of the Weeds is in progress at the Cox household.  Over the years, the meandering path that follows the garden has grown to several hundred pavers. When I laid them I never thought about laying anything underneath them.  Drr to me. So now I'm pulling them up and laying plastic under them. The weeds I chuck, the grass I plug into bare spots. Surprisingly the plugs take. And the violets I'm adding to the edge of the fencing hoping they'll grow enough to choke out the weeds.
AND...Speaking of violets...The violet leaves near the hostas are the size of my palm.  Elsewhere they are normal size.  Anyone else have giant violets?
AND....The eternal garden pics.
Whoops. That's no flower.
What about you. Got birds? Flowers? Weeds? Cats?

I feel your weed pain but really, your garden looks wonderful. And I'm so glad your wrens stuck around to have their babies! LOVE that swing!

Love the flowers and the kitten.

I got Vladimir Nabokov which is wild. Speaking of wild, I love your flowers which are so pretty, your pussy cat loves to investigate like all kitties do. My hubby bought the paper to use to stop weeds from coming. He double layered, spread down the dirt and then mulch.

Be aware that eventually the weeds will poke through the landscape barrier. I had that done on the Zensical garden. A layer of the fabric and then stone all this over a sand bottom as originally it was the site of the above ground pool. The first and second year it was great. Now weeds just love growing there. I'm thinking of pouring salt over the stones. Good luck with your path. So fun to have the birds nest in your yard. Your flowers are gorgeous and so is your kitty. And congrats on being Ian Fleming!

Beautiful flowers, Sandra, especially the furry one:) How cool you have a nest and babies you can enjoy! I enjoyed finding my writer, Stephen King, thanks for tagging me. Xo

I definitely have weeds. Lake Junebug helps them grow.

I write like Harry Harrison, a science fiction author. I've never heard of him before. I don't read or write science fiction.

I also laid down stones, but I laid cloth under mine. In a few years, it didn't help. I hope yours does better than mine. I'm ready to pull mine up again. I have to agree with the tabbies. My writing would confuse the algorithm too.

Harrison is who my second paragraph I submitted turned up. Soylent Green was based loosely on one of his stories.

Sandra Cox said...

Oh. Thanks for letting me know.

Jeanie said...

Oh, that sounds fun. Ian Fleming, huh? Must try. And love your sweet cat photo!

Janie Junebug said...

Nabokov was a great stylist. You should feel good about that, Birgit.

I tried again and got Cory Doctorow, another someone I've never heard of AND he writes science fiction!

Neurotic Workaholic said...

That is really cool. Apparently I write like Cory Doctorow, who I've never read before; he's a sci-fi author. I don't write sci-fi, but I kind of want to now. :)

You do have some lovely colours in your garden.

All the best Jan

Sandra Cox said...

I'm not familiar with Doctorow either. 2 sci fi authors so far:)
