Tuesday

Did you have a good weekend and Monday, blogger buds?

Have you seen this story? If not, it's worth a quick look. After all the darkness that we've seen in our country, I found it beyond moving.

AND...
Garden and flowers pics.
I love daylilies. I didn't used to be a fan, but now they are one of my favorite flowers. What's yours? Read any uplifting articles lately?

I did see that story. Tears were shed. Quite different tears to many of the others that have leaked from my eyes recently.
How I would love to wander through your garden.

You spring, well summer garden now, is looking lovely. Can I ask what the rectangular box thing is on the wall in the first and second photos. That was a nice story about the cop. Today I saw, perhaps in the London protest marches, a white man smashing up a shop window and black people pulling him away. In another US video I saw two white police try to arrest an FBI agent for no other reason than he was black. The FBI man once cuffs were taken off was not taking it lying down and demanded the cops' IDs.

Your flowers are gorgeous. I didn't realize daylilies came in any other color except orange. Wow!

Yes, I did read that story about that police officer. The men who protected him did the right thing. A business owner in Raleigh got the call his downtown store had been broken into By the time he arrived, two black women were guarding the entrance. Some employees showed up and they kept the rioters at bay. One of the women was even spraying pepper spray at those who got too close. The owner never got their names but was so grateful for their assistance.

My day lilies are in buds but not out yet. These are so pretty!

No uplifting articles bu Anne Lamott's book "Almost Everything," written a couple of years ago, feels like it was written for today! It sure helped me.

It's a heating/cooling unit. The room was an add on.
There are some wonderful stories out there right now as there are some ghastly ones. We are in turmoil right now.

Thanks, CJ:) They have an amazing range of color and style. My favorites are the double petals or ruffled petals. Best of all, they're hardy:)

That warms my heart.

There was also a group of black women who saved a white officer in another city recently. It shows how when people put their prejudices aside, good things come from it.

Your day lilies are incredible. Mine are all just orange. Love your garden.

I've always dreamt of growing my own moon-garden one day! Your images are beautiful. Do you have a favorite flower that holds a special kind of significance or nostalgia to you, Sandra?

Xo,
Laurel

Beautiful garden! All your flowers are so lovely. ^_^

Good to know Almost Everything is a help.
Can't wait to see your day lilies.

Sandra Cox said...

I do too. The only one that you named I don't have is peony. I've stayed away from it because it draws ants, but we've got so many on the property a peony bush probably wouldn't make a bit of difference.

You are so funny. Bad. Mr. O'Hare. Bad. Bad. Bad:)

My pleasure entirely, Jan.

Thanks, Adam:)

When good things happen right now, they really stand out, don't they?
My flowers and I thank you:)

Sandra Cox said...

That's for sure, Elizabeth.
I like orange:) It helps when you have a bud that had a daylily farm:)

Sandra Cox said...

A moon-garden! Wouldn't that be the most wondrous thing?
That's a good question, Laurel. As far as significance or nostalgia it would have to be the iris. My daughter is an artist and started painting them in high school. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Thanks so much, Heather! Love your icon:)

They need the ants to take off the wax so the flowers can bloom. We don’t have ants in the house.

The goings on in the world are making me very tired and weary. I am sure I am not alone with the way I feel...

Yes, it's very depressing.
