Which is true of some cats. Others (and Jazz fits the bill) can be decidedly potty mouthed. Which is probably one of the very few times I have disagreed with Mark Twain.
Dogs are great and they do yakety yak. Many cats do not talk at all and just give you a look while they swat your Salk shaker off the table. Our one cat, Kaspar, is very vocal and has separation anxiety when hubby is outside...the meows are so mournful
I like what CJ wrote. I have one vocal cat and one that purrs, but is soft spoken. Guess you can tell that Bleubeard is the vocal one, since he's the face of our blog. In this case, Twain was only half right.
Wouldn't that be great. I've always been fascinated by the gorillas that have been taught to communicate with us and the parrots that have been taught to talk.

Good quote. My Kitty was always very vocal, especially when I didn't get out of bed at 6 a.m. sharp to feed her! Hugs, Valerie
I like that quote, very true!
In my experience, Twain was on the mark with behaviour at least.
Fun quote
Great quote. Living alone, I wouldn't mind an animal that could talk.
Cats rule and dogs drool! 😺

Mark Twain obviously hadn't met Lizzie, the Mouth.

There's always exceptions to the rule:)
Heh. Your own personal alarm clock.
My dog is certainly blundering and outspoken:)
Glad you liked it, Christine.
He's never heard our cats get excited for their treats.
Mark Twain hasn’t met my poodle
Very true! It would be our fog telling on our cats:)

Twain was quite a philosopher/author wasn't he?

Franklin is probably an outspoken fellow. Penelope doesn't have much to say.
Love,
Janie
Hahahahaha! So true! :)
Yes they do:)
Ha.Ha. Or Callie. But we need to let him keep his illusions:)
Heh. Our kitties do love their treats:)
Interesting. What's your poodle like?
Heh:)
I'll give him three quarters, since there are many cats like he describes:)
Penelope is probably an excellent listener.
Sounds like your cats are graceful instead of noisy. We have quite the mixed bag today:)
What a very cool quote Super Sandra! Hugs and Happy soon to be Tuesday! RO
