December 7 question - It's holiday time! Are the holidays a time to catch up or fall behind on writer goals?
Heh. This one’s easy. Definitely fall behind😊
The awesome co-hosts for the December 7 posting of the IWSG are Joylene Nowell Butler, Chemist Ken, Natalie Aguirre, Nancy Gideon, and Cathrina Constantine!
November/December reviews in no particular order.
Occasional typos do not figure into my reviews.
THE AMERICANS ARE COMING: AN APPLEGATE MYSTERY by Sherri Hollister
This story, about seventeen-year-old Winnie Applegate, is a fast-paced historical mystery romance that is filled with twists and turns, and constantly moving. The tension grows as one disaster after another hits Colonel Bill Dexter's Wild West Extravaganza traveling show—where Winnie works as a trick rider—once word gets out the show is heading for England. The action builds and the tension mounts as danger follows the show on land and as they cross the ocean.
Winnie’s world kept me turning pages. The characters are well-developed, the world-building believable and the plot holds the reader's interest. The American’s Are Coming is a smooth read that I thoroughly enjoyed and do not hesitate to recommend.

You might fall behind but I am sure you will catch up. Quickly.
Thank you and drat you for tempting me with yet another review.
These are great reviews Sandra, thank you.
Falling behind is all part of the c ircle, you will catch up and overtake yourself one day! Hugs, Valerie
Hi Sandra - always good to have new recommendations ... but next year is my year of reading, though my choice tends to be non-fiction, so need the time to absorb. Just enjoy continue writing your stories - cheers Hilary
Yes, I fall behind too. Thanks for the book recommendation.
Just fall behind and enjoy the holidays.
Go ahead and fall behind!
I can't keep up. Everything is late. Fall behind and do what you need to do. Blogs will be here after!
Thanks for the review, Sandra. I just finished a Minette Walters novel that dates back to the early 90s: The Scolds Bridle. They made a movie of it, it was that good. Merry Christmas.
You are nothing if not pithy and concise. Well said, girlfriend! What a great note to add--"Occasional typos do not figure into my reviews." I absolutely agree but have never thought to mention it.
Denise, I'm sure you just made Sherri's day:) Your Kindle is probably going to have to loosen its belt. Ha ha. xo
Denise in VA. Entirely my pleasure:)
EC, Tempting you with books is what I do:) Hehe.
Hils, Nonfiction broadens our horizons and adds to our knowledge bank for sure. Cheers

Gracias por la reseña. Te mando un beso.
I'm so far behind, I may not catch up this year and I'm not even a writer!
YA always has more action in the story. This sounds like a good read. Have a joyful holiday season.
Falling behind is perfectly normal for me, and this time of year, I expect that to happen. Glad I'm in such good company.
Entirely my pleasure, J.P. Sending you hugs,
Elizabeth, Tis the season;)
Janet, That's probably why I like them so much. Thank you and you have a joyful holiday season too, Cuz.
Lee, You're in good company;) Happy Holidays.
I would be amazed if people can get a lot of writing done at this time of year unless they don’t celebrate Christmas. You gave an excellent review on this book.
Thanks, Birgit. I appreciate hearing that:)
