Today I'm sharing photo odds and ends taken at Winterthur Museum in Delaware, once country home of the DuPont family. I should have snagged a picture of the outside, but of course I didn't give that a thought. The mansion has 175 rooms.
I would have loved this doll house when I was a kid. It had cats in it and shoes beside the beds.
I loved this Christmas tree which was one of many.
I can't imagine how old this tree is. The picture really doesn't show it but it was one of the tallest I've ever seen.
And last but not least, Denise had another bear sighting.
Ever been to Winterthur? Any bear sightings?

How the other half (except it is much less than half) lives...
No bears here but heaps of animals to kill unsuspecting visitors. Du Pont? Wasn't he was the man who bred all the nylons, subsequently cruelly slaughtered to make our clothes? Doll houses rather intrigued me when I was very young.
Ketchup day again ... crumbs lots of ketchup over the pond! I love those old homes ... though appreciate comfort living now-a-days! I wish i had the dexterity (and ability) to craft things ...

DuPont. The better living through chemistry DuPont? The mansion is spectacular especially the Christmas decorations. Beautiful dollhouse. Reminds me of a dollhouse a neighbor girl had. It was a replica of the historic home they lived in. A friend of her father's made it. Real glass windows! It put my little tin dollhouse to shame. 😺 enjoy your day!
I would love to visit this mansion and love that doll house! I have a thing for doll houses. I'm watching a British show " the great big little crafy show"...something like that. The people have to create a room for doll house. It's so cool to watch this show and my mom would have loved it.
The bear looks young nut this is the only bear sighting I have seen..ON your blog:)).

Birgit, Doll houses have always held me enthrall.
I have never been there but, I do enjoy visiting those historic homes. I had a dollhouse as a child but, nothing quite that fancy.
