A nonpolitical FYI on the 'Real ID'.
I'm mentioning this because of the confusion that swirls around the real ID and hopefully it will be of help if you haven't gotten yours and plan to. We got ours in the works last week. I say in the works because we were basically given a 'temporary' (a piece of paper with current information) until the ID arrives. We took our drivers license, passports and proof of current address, which can be utility information, insurance etc. Mine went fine. But because the HH's passport showed his middle initial instead of full middle name, therefore not matching his proof of current address and drivers license to the letter, he had to go home and get his birth certificate. So make sure your name on all your documentation you take in is exactly the same.
My understanding is: that a real ID is basically a standardized ID for airline travel. It is not required for voting or registration. Although, it can be used as your photo ID when voting. It is also used at some military bases, some federal buildings and nuclear facilities.
Hope this helps.

Do you know, what kind of steak this is? Here's a hint....It's not beef:)
The violets are up. I love them but I didn't realize how invasive they are. They are making a grab to take over the garden.
The HH got me an Easter dishtowel:) Move over Easter bunny, the Easter kitties are coming to town.
Now the answer to your quizz:) It's a watermelon radish steak. This is a pic of it before it was cooked.

It's been a very messy winter, hence the new mat. It's very scarifying...at least for Frank. He wouldn't come in from the screened-in porch until I moved it. Maybe he's afraid that whatever giant beast made that footprint may be lurking around. The other critters could care less. Of course, they don't have Frank's highly developed sense of danger.
The HH has gone from complaining about how cold it is when the temp drops to 40 to grumbling about how he'll probably have to mow this month. 😀
The forsythia bushes are in bloom.
Birds love to hide in this one.
The hyacinths are also blooming.

HOMEPORT by MK Alexander
This is Book 3 in the Seven Sisters Series. Each book builds on the previous and each draws the reader deeper into the fascinating, deep space world that MK Alexander has created. HOMEPORT takes a poignant turn when Milo York, on top of shipmate losses, loses someone near and dear.
In the previous book NULL SPACE, our stalwart hero is fighting Urchins, parasite-like aliens, that are out to harm humans and their world alike. Now, he and his mates are battling on two fronts: Urchins and evil humans.
As always, the world building is exemplary and the characters endear themselves to the reader. I’ve truly enjoyed the first three books in the series and look forward to number four. A must read for MK Alexander fans, those that enjoy Sci-Fi and space operas or just relish a well-told tale.

SUNFLOWER TANKA: A 2025 Anthology of Tanka, Tanka Prose & Experimental Tanka by Colleen M. Chesebro and Robbie Cheadle
This is another wonderful SUNFLOWER TANKA offering as special as last year’s with many of the same contributors—from all over the world—along with first-timers of this particular anthology.
There’re so many moving prose, I couldn’t begin to list them.
Along with many other gems, this one caught my eye:
‘I slept quietly
But felt a hand holding mine
I knew it was hers
It was my grandmother’s touch
Crossing the vales from heaven.’
If you read last year’s tankas, but haven’t yet read 2025, you are in for a wonderful treat. Enjoy. I certainly did.
