Ketch-up Day

It's been a very messy winter, hence the new mat.  It's very scarifying...at least for Frank.  He wouldn't come in from the screened-in porch until I moved it. Maybe he's afraid that whatever giant beast made that footprint may be lurking around.  The other critters could care less. Of course, they don't have Frank's highly developed sense of danger.

Spring is here...at least temporarily

The HH has gone from complaining about how cold it is when the temp drops to 40 to  grumbling about how he'll probably have to mow this month. πŸ˜€

The forsythia bushes are in bloom.

Birds love to hide in this one.

The hyacinths are also blooming.

 And the grape hyacinths

AND From Illinois, cat and squirrel antics.

Short vid

Thanks, Jan.

What's going on at your place, Blogger Buds? Got spring flowers? Grumbles about 'it's to early to mow'? Squirrel sightings? Scaredy cats?;)

That's funny about Frank and the door mat.
Will HH grumble about the heat when it arrives?
Your garden is very active.

Cats are weird.
I've already mowed the past two weekends.

The weather has warmed here in recent days and the first migrant American Robins, Red-winged Blackbirds and Killdeer have returned. However, we are destined for another cold blast of lingering winter, they tell us. Such is the nature of March in southern Ontario.

Hi Sandra - we, too, are about to have another cold blast ... but it has been a mild winter thankfully. Love the Spring flowers ... I used to take some forsythia up to my mother and we looked to see what had opened each day ... plants are amazing. Frank too!! Cheers Hilary

The snow is melting! We can see areas of grass! Spring is still a good month away here. Today we get teased with temps. in the high 60s. Still too early to mow. We participate in No Mow May. So it give times for the bees to feed on the dandelions.

Mowed twice? You're putting us to the blush, Alex:)

David, How wonderful the birds are returning. I do miss the red-winged blackbirds which are plentiful in the Midwest but not in the South. Here's hoping that cold blast skips ya.

Forsythia, hyacinth and muscari are among my favorites. And I love it that Frank is freaked about the mat. (Is it a different texture for his little feet?)

Sandra Cox said...

Those are wonderful harbingers of spring, Jeanie.
As far as the mat, it's a different texture than the area rug so maybe that's it. He did step on it today. So we are getting there. I have noticed the animals will walk along the wood floors instead of the rugs if given a choice.
