In Maximum Risk, my
heroine, Avery, is cut off from her life due to the bad guys wanting her dead.
To get her mind off the danger she bakes a batch of her mom’s No Bake
Cookies-the only thing she can bake since she isn’t a cook. Quinn gave them his approval and he comes
from a family where his mom cooks Sunday dinner and leaves Tupperware in his
fridge when he’s away-so you know they’re good J So, here’s the recipe for Avery’s No Bake Cookies
from Maximum Risk. Enjoy!
Avery’s No Bake Cookies
½ c cocoa
2 c sugar
½ c milk
1 stick butter
½ c peanut butter
½ tsp. vanilla
3 c quick-cooking oats
1) Mix
sugar, cocoa, milk and butter in a saucepan and boil for 1 minute
2) Take
off heat
3) Add
peanut butter, vanilla and oats.
4) Lay
out on wax paper and let cool before enjoying!

Thank you, ButtonsMom!
I'm pretty sure I commented about this recipe yesterday, or two multiverses collapsed on me. However, let me say, or say again, that I think this recipe has useful application in real life....when your electricity goes out.
LOL, Liza! And I still agree with you ;)
Yummy recipe. I love them. Best of luck with your book!
We made these when I was a kid. I always called them haystacks because we'd wad them up so they looked like little haystacks. But the haystacks my husband loves aren't the same as these--they involve those Chinese noodles in a can and chocolate chips. I like these better!
Hey Stephanie, Your husband's haystacks are the kind my family and I make:)
Jennifer, my pleasure. I love No Bake Cookies. I'm getting hungry just thinking about them.
Hey Pat,
They are easy, and yummy.

My mom used to make haystacks, Stephanie! Haven't heard of those in years, lol.
Thank you, Melissa!
