Congrats, Mae. It sounds like a great one! I've always been fascinated by that bridge collapse. The Mothman is definitely interesting, but I remember seeing the movie and feeling totally enthralled by the ending. And I've watched several documentaries on the bridge collapse (as well as the Mothman). Sounds like a great book!

Hi, Stephanie. I think you'd probably enjoy A Thousand Yesteryears, given your fascination with the bridge collapse and the Mothman. I actually traveled to Point Please twice to do research on the mythology of the town and all the history of the bridge collapse. Like you, I've watched several documentaries and have picked up every book I can find. The fall of the bridge was so tragic, and it forever changed the community of Point Pleasant, even down to the commerce off the town. I hope I did justice to the spirit of the people who were lost and those who remained. There is just so much history there. The fall of the bridge plays a big part in my novel. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts!
Hi, Bleubeard and Elizabeth. I did a lot of reading and research on the bridge collapse (even visiting Point Pleasant twice) as well as all of the urban legend mythology of the Mothman. The lives that were lost in the disaster is so sad, and the town itself has been forever effected. Point Pleasant went from a thriving community to a shell of its former glory, but the spirit and history of so many are still there. The residents I met truly love their town.
