A Thousand Yesteryears

Greetings, friends. Our blogster pal Mae Clair has some news to share with us today.  She has another romantic suspense coming out. I gotta say, I can’t wait to read this one!

Goodreads Book Giveaway: A Thousand Yesteryears by Mae Clair #mystery #suspense #Mothman

A huge THANK YOU to Sandra for allowing me blog space to share some exciting news. Kensington Publishing is doing a Goodreads Giveaway for a paperback copy of my upcoming release, A THOUSAND YESTERYEARS. There will be two—count ‘em two—winners. The giveaway is open now through February 29th (how cool, a leap year). If you’re interested, you can enter here:

A THOUSAND YESTERYEARS is a tale of mystery and suspense centered around events that took place in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. You’ll discover a small river town plagued by tragic history and rumored sightings of the Mothman—a terrifying creature said to haunt an abandoned WWII munitions site.

The characters are everyday people facing extraordinary circumstances—secrets, betrayal, murder. I hope you find the blurb intriguing:

Behind a legend lies the truth…

As a child, Eve Parrish lost her father and her best friend, Maggie Flynn, in a tragic bridge collapse. Fifteen years later, she returns to Point Pleasant to settle her deceased aunt’s estate. Though much has changed about the once thriving river community, the ghost of tragedy still weighs heavily on the town, as do rumors and sightings of the Mothman, a local legend. When Eve uncovers startling information about her aunt’s death, that legend is in danger of becoming all too real…

Caden Flynn is one of the few lucky survivors of the bridge collapse, but blames himself for coercing his younger sister out that night. He’s carried that guilt for fifteen years, unaware of darker currents haunting the town. It isn’t long before Eve’s arrival unravels an old secret—one that places her and Caden in the crosshairs of a deadly killer…

~ooOOoo~

A THOUSAND YESTERYEARS releases on April 26th, but the ebook version is already available from Amazon and all other major book sellers. If you’d like to pre-order you can find a complete list of links here.

In the meantime, I invite you sign up for the paperback giveaway at Goodreads and tell your friends! The Mothman Cometh!

Thanks, Alex. I actually took two trips to Point Pleasant to research the setting of Yesteryears first hand. Most fun I ever had doing research!

Thanks, J.Q. I really enjoyed writing this one. It's mostly mystery and suspense but there is a small romantic sub-plot. All those elements made it fun!

Thank you, Sherry. This one hung around on the back burner before I finally tackled it. I'm so pleased to know it's finally going to hit "the shelves." :)

Congrats, Mae. It sounds like a great one! I've always been fascinated by that bridge collapse. The Mothman is definitely interesting, but I remember seeing the movie and feeling totally enthralled by the ending. And I've watched several documentaries on the bridge collapse (as well as the Mothman). Sounds like a great book!

Congratulations Mae. I love a good mystery and this sounds interesting. I've read about the Silver Bridge collapse, and was surprised to read that this book is based on that sad event. I look forward to reading this one. And thanks go to Sandra for featuring it, too.

Thanks so much!

Hi, Stephanie. I think you'd probably enjoy A Thousand Yesteryears, given your fascination with the bridge collapse and the Mothman. I actually traveled to Point Please twice to do research on the mythology of the town and all the history of the bridge collapse. Like you, I've watched several documentaries and have picked up every book I can find. The fall of the bridge was so tragic, and it forever changed the community of Point Pleasant, even down to the commerce off the town. I hope I did justice to the spirit of the people who were lost and those who remained. There is just so much history there. The fall of the bridge plays a big part in my novel. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts!

Hi, Bleubeard and Elizabeth. I did a lot of reading and research on the bridge collapse (even visiting Point Pleasant twice) as well as all of the urban legend mythology of the Mothman. The lives that were lost in the disaster is so sad, and the town itself has been forever effected. Point Pleasant went from a thriving community to a shell of its former glory, but the spirit and history of so many are still there. The residents I met truly love their town.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and I hope you enjoy the book!

I'm looking forward to this one.
