We had ordered a bed for the babies and I asked the deliveryman when it would be delivered. He said, "First thing in the morning."
I asked, "What's your definition of first thing in the morning?"
He replied, " Around 10:30."
And I said, "Oh good. That's my definition too!"
So what's your idea of first thing in the morning?

You are going to cringe here. My definition of first thing in the morning is well before first light. It is a late start for me if I get up after five.
My partner on the other hand given his druthers gets up at the crack of noon. Or later.
When I wake up, which is mostly early, and not from choice, I just can't sleep! Hugs, Valerie
I always seem to awken at 5am and it's still dark.
Have a great Thursday.
Yvonne.
I guess "first thing in the morning" to me means when I wake. During summer I usually wake around 5 am, on a "normal" morning that will be either a little before or a fraction after; and in winter probably around 6 am.; a little before or a little after...mostly the former.
On the weekends, it's just before noon.
I'm up before then, but I don't start doing anything productive until almost lunch.
9a weekdays, after 10a weekends.
Around 9 I consider first thing, not that I want to be up some days
First thing is before 9 am and can be as early as 6 am.
first thing in the morning which comes in my mind whenever i open my eyes is the deep and sooo deep sense of gratefulness to my Creator, i often see things from above and the which opens its eyes slowly and then gently its heart becomes full of countless rushy moments and movements ,then i pray may all go well with all today amen
You are so smart. I would have not thought to ask what first thing in the morning was. I wake up between 5 and 6 in the morning to get the family where they need. However, 10:30 would be plenty early for a delivery. I can run around and do the morning things, eat, drink coffee, read the paper and then deal with the outside world. Cheers.
Probably around 7, but I definitely wouldn't be up by then:)
About 7 to 8 am...hard to know as so many people have different ideas about 'first thing in the morning'.
7-8 am during the week, and 8-9 on weekends. And the, of course, there are holidays which is a whole other ball of wax :D
Hi, dear Sandra!
In my college years, first thing in the morning meant 12:30 in the afternoon! :) When I produced the morning TV newscast, first thing in the morning was around 2:30-3 am. In the 2000s, first thing in the morning was between 4 and 5 am. In the 2010s, first thing in the morning is whenever I feel like getting up. :)
Happy Thursday, dear friend Sandra!
I'm with you. First thing in the morning should be around 10 or 10:30 AM. Himself tells me I'm wasting daylight as he gets up at 4:30 AM. To Him, half the day is gone by 10:30
8-9
You have my utmost admiration, EC. I like getting up that early and enjoying the quiet of the morning, but normally I'm worthless the rest of the day, if I get up that early.
Don't ya hate that? Hope while you are sleeping it's good, deep sleep.
That's a little early for me.
Another early riser. I go through periods when I wake--and get up--that early. But they're not the norm.
Sounds like the HH:)
Sounds good:)
I hear ya:)
That sounds like me, although nine is more my norm.
What a wonderful way to wake up.
It was self-preservation, Ann. I didn't want to still be in bed when they showed up:)
Heh:)
Very true, Margaret.
Hi Mae,
I can remember when I worked, always being amazed when people weren't up and at 'em by 8 a.m. No more:)
The last is the best isn't it, Shady?:)
We want to hear more about when you produced a morning TV newscast.
4:30 AM....Isn't that still the middle of the night? grin
Reasonable:)

Hi, dear Sandra!
Over the years I produced newscasts at various times of the day including the 5 pm cast, the 6 pm cast and the 11 pm cast. For a time I also produced the morning newscast which, if I recall correctly, came on at 6 am. To get to the station early enough to gather the news, edit videotape footage, write copy for the anchor and production instructions for the director and crew, I needed to arise in the middle of the night, around 2:30-3 am as I recall. That was a tough schedule because it meant going to bed around 8 or 9 every evening. :)
Haha, 10:30's cool. Especially if I have to meet or see someone outside. I think I'm fresh enough by then &, mentally ready, tehe. :D
That time sounds perfect to me:)
I'm a morning person. I like getting up around 6 or 6:30.
Thanks for stopping by. : )
Sounds good to me:)
Me too:)
:) Yes indeed.
Being a farmer, 6:00 a.m. is first thing in the morning but it used to be 5:30 a.m. I like Shady Del Knight definition of first thing in the morning.
Have a great weekend and thanks for leaving a comment on my blog.
