Since Faux spends a lot of time on the porch, in the past, she has gotten lion cuts in the summer to keep her cool.
But on her thirteenth birthday last year, the vet and I both felt she was getting too old to be sedated for a cut, so now instead of a Lion Cut she gets the Cox Chop:)
Lovely pics, and you are so right - my hair is now also cut to be more practical than beautiful, old age has its privileges! Your cat still looks gorgeous! Hugs, Valerie
That's where she would get her cuts was at the groomers, but they had to sedate her. I think the clipper buzz or else barking dogs freaked her. So now I just take scissors and clip clip clip.
Not vogue worthy:) Love it. Well said. It wasn't that bad. I just got the scissors out and started snipping. The worst was the mess I made with cat hair on the porch.
I get a summer cut for Shelby every summer, too. It stays hot here into fall, so I often keep getting her hair cut short until October or November! I also get it pretty short when my brother-in-law visits because he complains if she smells...it's just easier than listening to him complain!

Practicality replaces vanity for me a loooong time ago. Perhaps because I was never beautiful as Faux most definitely is.
Awesome pics Sandra and oh so true to read.
Have a wonderful day.
Yvonne.

Vanity is overrated, anyway. LOL. Looks like Faux has embraced her new practical look! :P
Trimming an ornery and annoyed cat must be fun.
I somehow doubt Faux is too worried about her vanity, because she still looks good (and COOL) to me! Hope she feels the same in a few years, too.
Oh I think pussy cat feels better with the haircut even if it is not vogue worthy. I bet it was a challenge to cut Faux's fur.
I wondered how you trimmed her. I watched a lot of sheep get trims yesterday at the state fair
Ink wouldn't stand for that
Bet that isn't an easy thing to do. Mom has one that just goes to the groomers and let's her do it.

Faux's got nothing on you.
Thanks, Yvonne:) You too.
I'm sure your practical cut looks cute:)
Faux thanks you:)
It gives her that wild look.
It is indeed:) And she has embraced her new look:)
Actually, she is extremely mellow, just not comfortable with clippers in the hands of folks she doesn't know.
Thanks, Elizabeth. I do too. Except for her eyes and sinuses she appears to be in pretty good shape for a senior.

I think next summer I'm going to invest in a pair of shears. How did the sheep do?
I hear ya. She's the only one I'd try it with in my crew.
Wild and woolly:)

No dignity for Faux but she doesn't know the difference.
