This is so sweet, good for the oldies and for the kitties. We had several dogs at the care home where I used to work and they were very much loved by the people there. Have a good week, hugs, Valerie

I so enjoyed this thank you for sharing Sandra.
I’ve tagged you in the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers award. Joining in is entirely optional, and I completely understand if you don’t have the time to get involved. I must admit it took me some time to get to it, but once I did I had fun.

And saving Seniors with the help of the Kittens. Win/win.

I so agree with Elephant's child's comment. Studies show anyone who pets an animal lowers their heart rate, so both the kittens and seniors benefit here.

What a great idea. I'd say that's salvation for both.

Lovely story. When my mother was in the nursing home, one of the residents carried around a baby doll. I thought Ma would enjoy one, too, so gave her one for Christmas. She loved to hold and talk to her baby. I think she went back in time to when she was a young mother with The Brother and me.

Ahh...so wonderful.

I think all nursing homes need pets in them.
Hope you're having a great day, Val.

This touched my heart because it helps the kittens but also the older people. My mom always carries a teddy bear with her now and another lady has a doll. I think if this was introduced, it would awaken some of the people in the long term care places and make them feel bette. Many are depressed and just sit there in the lounge with the TV on. I wish more places would do this.

Indeed, EC.

Indeed, Elizabeth. The kittens need rescued and love. And the seniors need love and something to love.

Well said, Alex.

It sure is, Steve.

The seniors seem very happy to be able to cuddle a little one and be needed don't they?

Sandra Cox said...

It sure is, Pat.

Awww. What a great thing to do for your mom.

Sandra Cox said...

Isn't it great, Jamie?

It's heart breaking to see seniors grouped together and no interaction.
I agree. All long term care centers need animals.
