Our Thanksgiving was wondrous. I trust yours was too.
Too Much Turkey |

And speaking of turkey.....Our *@!*# dog decided to do a reenactment of the Bumpus' Hounds--on Christmas Story--Thanksgiving Day while at the boarder's. Luckily the turkey was wrapped in aluminum foil and retrieved before serious damage was done.
Want to try the pate? Here's the recipe link: Exotic Mushroom Pate
And....
They had a portable projector so we watched movies on the wall, just like the big screens at the theaters:)

The pate sounds good - but chicken stock? Amazing how many vegetarian recipes include it (and restaurants often do).
Your dinner sounds lovely. I hadn't realised that your household also includes a carnivore (with less than four legs).
Sounds like a great feast, love the photos, especially the slumbering carnivore! Pate sounds great, too. Glad you were able to enjoy some good 'together time'. Hugs, Valerie
Sounds and looked like a great Thanksgiving Sandra.
Thanks for sgaring.
Yvonne.
I can see you all had a wonderful day and how sweet of your daughter to do that for her dad. We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in the UK, but if we did I would want to do so in just the same way as you. Family, good food and films!
In answer to your question on my blog: According to historian R. S. Duncan, a former governor of England’s Wakefield Prison, the song originated with that 420-year-old institution’s female prisoners, who were exercised around a mulberry tree. He goes on to say; a sprig was taken from Hatfeild Hall (Normanton Golf Club) Wakefield, and grew into a fully mature mulberry tree. This seems to be the accepted explanation, although according to Wikipedia, there is no evidence to support his theory. I didn’t know that – thanks for such an interesting question.
What a feast. The end result looks like the aftermath of Christmas dinner here, where the young people go outside for a game of backyard cricket, and the not so young pass out.
Looks like a great spread. Rather funny the dog almost got the turkey.
Looks like a delicious spread. Had to laugh about the dog. Surprised the kitties didn't get into the act, too.
Looks so good and your hubby sleeping is funny and seems to sum up what a good meal it was. Your dog story is quite funny
Looks like you had a wonderful and sumptuous Thanksgiving :)
Wow! Such elegance and beauty! That spread looks like something from a movie and I totally love it. Even the menu is fabulous, and I would devour that Shepherd's Pie It didn't happen this year, but I've sure been guilty of eating too much turkey and everything else on the table in my lifetime, so I can totally relate. (Your pic is so fun-lol) So glad that you were able to spend such a wonderful time with family,Super Sandra, and thank you for allowing us to share in the experience with the great pics. Hugs...RO
Looks like you had a great Thanksgiving.
The mass falling asleep were all around me. I managed to not eat as much and stayed awake.
If only turkeys knew what was comign for them in nov
haha he sure looks full. The pup just wanted some too. Watching movies on the wall is a win.
Your meal was sumptuous and you have a beautiful family!
I've never been fond of liver pate so mushroom pate sounds like a good change. I'll have to check it out. All in all, it looks like a wonderful dinner, beautifully served and your family is lovely. I'm so glad it was a good Thanksgiving. You can see the love.
I noticed the chicken stock too, EC. I'd don't know why they don't list vegetable stock. Most of us sub with it.
Yup, he's a meat and potatoes man. He's very gracious when we go out about trying to find something that works for me.
Thanks, Val. It was good to have together time. We don't get to see them as often as we'd like.
I suspect any day that includes Butterscotch Bourbon Pie will be a good one.
Love,
Janie
franky N cap'n...we hope ta COD yur cuzinz harry N holly waz knot forced ta eat that bass terd burd....look at what it did ta yur poor dad.....
faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
☺☺♥♥
It was, Yvonne:)
Thanks for taking the time to look it up, Barbara. Who'd of thought it started with female prisoners instead of children.
Ha! Isn't that the truth about the end results of a large family meal?
Give me ten years and I'll be laughing:)
It was delicious:)
The *&^% dog was boarded. The kitties were at home. Our critter caregiver keeps the dog and comes in to check on the cats, otherwise you know Franky would have been front and center on the turkey theft.
It was tasty.
The HH definitely enjoyed his turkey:)
*&%#@ Dog.
We did. Thank you, Rachna.
Hi Ro! They did a wonderful job on the meal. And since they're both artists: presentation, presentation, presentation;)
I looked pretty scarecrowish in the pic but that's okay everyone else looked good:)
Hope your day was wondrous and evening even better.
We did, Jamie:)
Good for you, Steve;)
It's probably a good thing they don't.
He does look full indeed, Pat:)
The dog nearly got his wish.
Watching the movies was fun:)
What a wonderful thanksgiving, thanks for sharing your photographs.
That pate sounds good ...
All the best Jan
Thank you, Christine. I think they are:)
Thank you so much, Jeanie. It was wonderful and good to be with family.
For sure, Janie:)

My pleasure.
The pate is very tasty, Jan.
