The
first Wednesday of every month is officially IWSG day. Members post about their
doubts and fears, discuss struggles and triumphs, and offer words of
encouragement to others who are struggling.
Thanks,
as always, to Alex
Cavanaugh,
founder and Ninja Captain extraordinaire. The awesome co-hosts for the July 3
posting of the IWSG are Renee Scattergood, Sadira Stone, my bud Jacqui Murray
(who writes awesome prehistoricals😊)
Tamara Narayan and LG Keltner. Thanks folks.
The IWSG monthly question can be found
under the IWSG Sign-up tab on the Insecure Writer's Support Group Blog.
The August 7
question-Has your writing ever taken you by surprise? For example, a positive
and belated response to a submission you’d forgotten about or an ending you
never saw coming?
It wasn't an ending, but I didn't see it coming...I was contacted by
an entertainment company inquiring into the availability of film/TV rights for Love,
Lattes and Mutants. Of course, that splatted, but it was a nice momentary glow😊
Always the bride’s maid never the bride.
Read this month: Hoosier Dad and Past
Due
I’d seen Elizabeth Seckman on the
IWSG circuit off and on for quite some time but, until recently, I had never read anything she’d
written. My loss. She’s an amazing author and tells an equally
amazing tale. She is great at character development and worldbuilding. If you
enjoy HEAs, I highly recommend her.

I hope your time to be the bride comes soon. It is overdue.
Love that final image. So very true.
I think if we only did things when inspired, well.....Have a great day, hugs, Valerie
Enjoyed the post Sandra, much of what I've written in the past have suprised me,
Yvonne.
That must have been a great feeling, until it went splat anyway.
Your time will come.
Your time will come.
I bet that was an incredible high!
But what a happy splat. It means it could happen again.
Thanks, EC:)
True indeed.
Yeah, I hear ya on that. Grin.
Hugs received and returned.
I hear ya, Yvonne.
Heh. Exactly.
Thanks, Christine;)
Yup. I was aglow:)
That's a lovely thought, Di.
I feel writing is poor when the mood is poor.
You are so much fun! Love the decision matrix. Yep, that fits. Sorry about the splat and I can relate. I own some undeveloped land. Had a developer call me once--talked for an hours about all the money I'd make only to realize I didn't own the plot he wanted! Sigh.
Nice. Too bad it didn't work out.

You sweet, sweet lady. I was having one of those slog sort of days- you know, where you wonder if scrubbing the toilet wouldn't be a better use of your time rather than diving into the latest WIP. And then I stumble on this. Honestly, you made my day, no week!
What a nice shout out for Elizabeth! And I appreciate your flowchart!
Most definitely. I've found though, sometimes the poor turns into the best because I have to spend extra time on it.
Don't you hate it when that happens? A co-worker was in a similar situation. Buyers were talking big bucks for property and it fizzled too.
I wasn't too hopeful. My luck just doesn't run that way:)
Entirely my pleasure. I REALLY enjoyed both books. It's tough isn't it, when we get desperate enough to clean the house so we don't have to write. Heh.
Don't ya hate it when the answer is no?
Wow! Congratulations on your book being made into a movie!!! You should be proud. Love the chart which makes me think to get my ass in gear and start working on my scrapbook....I am now on Lucille Ball’s hometown we visited.
Heh. It would have been nice, but the movie gig fell through.
Looking forward to seeing your scrapbook.
Love the flow chart. Better luck next time re movie rights. I've thought about 'what if' a producer asked me for the rights to my latest novel. One part of me cringes knowing they'd change the plot, even the characters; the other part would go out and party all night :) Blessings
I remember once being rejected but it was by a better class of magazine and it was nice to know it had made it farther along the route! I wish your movie deal had come through. But you never know...
Your time is coming! I know it is Sandra!!!
Your last image is good!
Big Hugs!
