What we've been doing:
We celebrated with friends last week where the HH got cake #1.
On the way, we saw snow in the mountains in the Pisgah National Forest. Apologies for the blurry pictures, they were taken from the car.
The next birthday celebration was with my family at Harrah's where he got cake #2. By the by, loved the candle. It opened like a lotus flower. As you can see he's a Cub's fan.
From there we went to Southern Indiana to visit with the HH's sister and brother-in-law. While there, he got cake #3 (decorated in Chicago Bears colors:)
They have a new home that is quite nice. I fell in love with the master bath and wanted to share it with you. I was quite intrigued by the door. It's on gliders and as you can see, replicates a barn door.
Walk-in closet.
Bath.
Powder room.Shower.
Double sink.
Nice, huh? And yup that's me in the mirror. The pictures came out dark and don't really do it justice.
Now back on the road and driving through the mountains..
And finally...
Home.
So what have YOU been up to while I've been away?

Looks like you had a fun time. Love the cakes and candles, wow! And I want that bath tub....Have a great day, hugs, Valerie
That's a lot of cake. I like the bathroom, but not the barn door. Lee had a birthday? Did I miss it too?
Looks like a good time was had by all Sandra. Pleased the birthday celebrations went with a swing.
Good to have you back.
Yvonne.
Sure got a lot of cake. Neat idea for the door. The bathroom sure is a winner.
Your HH had a wonderful birthday celebration. I take it he likes any Chicago sports team! Glad you took us on this road trip, because that bath was wonderful.
Happy belated birthday to Lee, too.
Three cakes - why not! That second one is impressive.
3 cakes is a perfect way to celebrate. It sounds like you had a great time and that’s what counts. Wishing Lee a Happy Birthday. That birthday is almost how we want our bathroom and I love the separate water closet which is a European thing and one that I think makes sense. I want tha Walk in closet
That is a gorgeous bathroom! I love the barn doors too.
I think 3 cakes is a great symbol of a life well lived! To have that many people shower you with sweets? You're doing something right.
I didn't even know today was Lee's birthday, so you're doing better than me.
GOOD GRIEF! That's a LOT of cake! And it looks like a lot of fun, too -- you can tell from the smile. What a great way to celebrate. And it had to be fun to see family too. Love the house -- I know what you mean about the bathroom. What a great candle... all SO good. Welcome back, Sandra!
3 cakes, that's some celebration. I could skip the snow in the mountain photos. So not ready for snow. And it looks like my Dollhouse could fit into that bathroom!
Wow, three cakes. And I love that lotus flower candle.
We did:) The candle was fun. Yup, nice bath tub:)
Thanks, Val. Hugs received and returned.
It is a lot of cake. He's working on the last one now:)
Her Bday was the 11th. You are in company on missing it.
Thanks, Yvonne. We did all have fun:)
He did indeed, Pat:) Agreed. I think the door style is a neat idea and the bathroom is a winner for sure:)
He did have a wonderful BDay, Elizabeth.
Yes, that bathroom is amazing;)
AND...The Bears originated in his hometown of Decatur:)
Well celebrated, hubby's birthday! Happy one to Lee too.
Happy birthday to him.
I also been meaning to visit Harrahs. A decent drive from where we are though.
Why not indeed. My sister got that one and couldn't wait till his bday to show it to him so produced it the night before:)
I love the separate water closet too. Harrah's, where we stayed Thursday night, has a set up like that.
Oh yeah, the walk-in closet is NICE.
Isn't that door neat? It is gorgeous. The pics didn't do it justice.
I like that. A symbol of a life well lived.
Actually her bday was the 11th, so, per usual lately, I'm behind.
Thanks, Jeanie.
Yup lots of cake. Lots of fun:)
Yes, lots of celebrating going on:)
Their bathroom is good size, that's for sure:)
Happy Birthday to your hubby! Wow, 3 cakes!! Excellent! I love that candle and I love that bathroom! That door is so cool! Going to try to catch up with you in the next few days! Big Hugs Sandra and Happy Birthday Lee!
The cakes and the candle were fun:)
It's an eight hour drive for us. I'm guessing around that for you?
FYI: Their hotel prices are very reasonable during the week and go up on the weekend.
Thanks, Stacy:)
Hugs received and returned.
Hi Sandra - so pleased hubby had a few birthdays to celebrate and share cake with family and friends. They look delicious while that candle sounds fascinating to see ... also the journey photos and house images - looks amazing ... cheers Hilary
Tis me!
Neat candle! That's cool y'all got some good family time in for his birthday. 😊 Since he's a Cubs fan, maybe his acronym should be CH (Cubby Hubby) instead of HH. 😁 I love those sliding barn doors! I think all doors should be sliding doors, lol. Recessed ones are cool too. Nice trip pics! Happy birthday to Lee! 🎂🎈🎉
Great to see all of your photographs … a very good selection :)
So pleased the birthday celebrations went well.
All the best Jan
CH.Ha Ha. Love it.
