Did you know, Thomas Jefferson had high hopes of bringing political harmony between the Federalists and the Republicans, the two parties of the day. That didn't happen. Politicians seldom even stayed at boarding houses or went to taverns that the other group frequented.

Sigh. I suspect he would have had even less chance today.
Echoing what EC said.
Can you imagine what Jefferson might be up against with the climate today? Seems we've gone from sad to worse over the years and centuries.
I wonder what he would have said in today's political climate.
Yet another fact I learned today Sandra.
Have a good Thursday.
Yvonne.
What would he have said about today's situation? Hugs, Valerie
Nope, I had no idea! 😏🤷♂️
Some things don't change, except politicians no longer stay in boarding houses but very expensive hotels.
Well, he had high hopes which still has not been realized today.
Times haven't changed
I agree with you both.

Interesting
Indeed.
Somehow, I'm not surprised!
It would certainly be interesting to see his reaction and how he dealt with today's political climate, wouldn't it?
He would have probably been horrified, don't you imagine, Nas?
Thanks, Yvonne. Hope you have a good Thursday too:)
Probably nothing repeatable:)
Hugs received and returned.
Your history factoid, HG:)
You got that right, Andrew.
Not currently, that's for sure.
Amazing, innit?
Considering how bad things are today, that is comforting.
Uy todo sigue igual te mando un beso
Everything remains the same. :)
Seems we've never figured out how to get along.
Shaking my head.
Hopefully, we'll survive this too.
Sadly.
Sending you a hug.
Unfortunately.
Nothing has changed :(
Why can't we get along??
Big Hugs!
