How are you, my blogger buds? For those that celebrate Thanksgiving, did you have a wondrous one? I trust so. Ours certainly was, with some Griswold moments thrown in. But first I have to say I've got the best blogger buds in the blogosphere. Look what was waiting for me when we got home from Philly.
I mentioned that I couldn't find cinnamon tea and my own special genie in the form of CJ at CJ and Ink ordered and sent me this. You rock, CJ. Thanks so much.
AND
If that wasn't enough of a surprise Rockin Ro sent this.
Look at what prices were back in the day. A car for 4K and a home for 54K. Can you believe it? This is really going to date me but I can remember my parents picking up an old house with no plumbing, no kitchen cabinets, and only one bedroom for 3K. Luckily my dad was a carpenter, but I've wandered way off topic. Thank you, Ro, your memory is way better than mine:)
AND to the blogger buds that sent cards and holiday wishes, thank you so much. I'm thankful for each and everyone of you.
ON to the holiday weekend, which was lovely. We arrived in Philly Thursday evening and wonder of wonders found a parking spot right in front of our daughter's and SIL's row house. Talk about lucky. We should have bought a lottery ticket.
The next morning we took a walk in one of the city parks. Before we left the baby girl served french toast, soaked overnight in custard then topped with brulee. Oh my. It was so good.
As you can see, there's still plenty of color in the park. Does anybody know what the shrub with the purple berries is?
Then later, our delicious dinner.
Followed by this the next morning.
After breakfast we headed for Longwood Gardens. Oh my Cod, it was cold. I wore my NC jacket down but packed my Philly coat. Thank goodness. Pictures to follow next week.
Now I want to hear all about your week. Did you celebrate Thanksgiving? Walk? Eat too much? Inquiring minds want to know.
Addendum
I just received an online advent calendar from Birgit at Created by BB. Thanks so much, Birgit, can't wait to get it downloaded.

Hooray for a wonderful Thanksgiving. And creative gifts given to a totally deserving person.
Hi Sandra - wonderful you had such a fun time ... and excellent to come home to such perfect gifts. Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend - purple berries ... sorry no idea! Cheers Hilary
Glad you had a great time at Thanksgiving, and enjoyed being with your family. You got some lovely presents! Nothing exciting happened here! Hugs, Valerie
You have been busy and how great to be spoilt as senior by family.
You received some nice things. I like RO's anniversary gift.
The cost of living is very interesting. The figures look fairly reasonable to me. Lol at buying a house in Australia for $270,000 but then lol at income only being $28,000. Apples and oranges.
Some of those prices were five times more! And if it was 2021 comparison, the price of gas would be even more shocking.
Glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving even if it was cold.
We do forget the income of that same period. Do the math and back in the day, they were getting screwed on some things
So glad you had a great holiday. So did I. It was the best one since my husband died.
So glad the tea arrived. Enjoy! Oh, those prices. I graduated college in 1973. My parents paid $4,000 per year, $16,000 total for my education and degree. Contrast with we paid close to $250,000 total for her education! I bought my first car, a 1979 Ford Mustang for $5,000. Now a car costs as much as a condo. So glad you had a nice holiday with your family. The spread looks delicious. I looked up Purple berry in PA and the plant is called Beautyberry.
So nice that you got to spend the holiday with your family.
Welcome back, Sandra! You're always missed! I'm glad you had a wonderful holiday. Mine's on the blog so I won't bore everyone here, but it was a good one. No gardens, though. Now, that I'm eager to see!
Please feel free to send along some of your French Toast and Cinnamon Teaπ ( great gift) The flowers π are fabulous, and we're glad you're back, and happy π that you liked the Christmas π/Anniversary gift π. Hugs, RO

Spoilt for sure. They do everything when we come in and everything when they come in.
Ro's gift is filled with interesting info isn't it?
$270 seems a little light in today's market doesn't it?
Take good care.
For sure.
Thanks, Alex. It was wonderful in spite of the cold:) Hope yours was too.

sandra; sounds like and awesome and super great holiday !!! glad you got to spend time with family ♥♥♥ { the gifts are way cool too } ☺☺
True. Though, the board was more leveled. There wasn't such a huge chasm in incomes.
Oh, that's wonderful to hear, Natalie.
Education prices are through the roof, aren't they? I'm clutching my heart at the 250K.
Cool on your Mustang. I'm still driving mine. It's nearly 20 years old:)
