It's Tuesday

So, is anyone else out there watching Black List?

We are so hooked. I love James Spader and the off the wall characters that waltz in and out of the series. We turn it on after dinner and watch it till bedtime. We're almost through the eighth season which means we're going to be waiting awhile for season nine. Sigh.

Has anyone else noticed a shortage in canned cat food?

It's been going on awhile in our area and is starting to get nerve-racking especially with the two finicky creatures I've got. Tuna in sauce for one. Chicken pate for the other.

I've had cats all my life. Mostly rescues and I've never had finicky eaters. Most have had their favorite foods. Chuck (featured near the bottom on the right) loved his turkey. He'd almost paw wrestle the HH on Thanksgiving. But all of them always considered any kind of cat food a treat. Not these two and they're both rescues. Frank was starving in the woods and Callie still hides around strangers. Frank ate everything that was placed in front of him and wanted more for about the first two years of his life.  After that he decided to be a prima donna but I digress. In the past, I could always pick up whatever cat food I was looking for. Now it's pretty much take what you can get. The shelves are the next thing to bare. Luckily, this hasn't spilled over into kibble.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is our canned cat food coming from overseas or is it a transportation problem in the United States? Got any thoughts on the matter?

The last hangers on.

Another care package filled with all kinds of goodies including

arrived. The little mousse pumpkins were delicious. The Pumpkin Alfredo is either going to be  a new culinary treat or an acquired taste:)

Got flowers? Cat food? Pumpkin Alfredo sauce? Watch Black List?

That is one very brave rosebud.
Cat food shortage is a national problem it would seem. https://www.reuters.com/business/retail-consumer/pet-food-shortages-leave-owners-hunt-kibble-cat-treats-2021-07-29/

Jazz is a very pernickitty eater - despite being a rescue. Not only does it have to be the right food it has to be served in the right place. And if we find any and stock up on it he goes off it.
Love the brave remnants in your garden.

Haven't noticed cat food.
I watched the first couple seasons of The Black List.
Will pass on pumpkin Alfredo!

I had the same problem with the kitties food. The rescue place had them on Royal Canin and I wanted to keep them on the same food. None of the pet stores had the Royal Canin Slices in Gravy that they were eating. I finally found Petco had Loaf in Gravy so I ordered that and a 15 lb bag of the Royal Canin kibble.

We love Red! We watch it live as we get the station via YouTubeTV. He's such a lovable psycho/sociopath.

Oh, and Ink only ate Purina One Urinary Tract kibble. He loved wet food but gobbled it down so fast it just came back up. Always on a rug, too, never the kitchen floor. So the vet said to just keep Ink on kibble. I had to put a golf ball in his kibble dish because he ate so fast. We did give him treats of chicken or turkey. He was allergic to seafood. So no seafood for the kitties. Just in case.

I got extra of the dry food, but I noticed the canned food was sparse. We give ours Fancy Feast as a small treat, so I should probably get some more.

I watched Black List the first year, but couldn't get into it the second year. Not sure why, but I haven't watched since Season 1.

My two only get wet cat food on their birthdays, and this year I even forgot it was Bleubeard's, which was Oct. 28. I buy Member's Mark cat food at Sam's, to which I add high end bags, like Rachel Ray and Iams, as well as others. I then mix them together. Both boys eat the same food, but I have stopped leaving food out for Squiggles, who has no idea about portion control. Both Dog (my cat before Bleubeard) and Bleu eat a bit, then know/knew when to stop. Not so Squiggles, who I had to put on a diet.

One thing about Bleubeard. He LOVES real turkey breast. I used to have to watch to make sure he didn't get in the kitchen any time I fixed turkey. He would eat an entire breast if I would have allowed it. No canned turkey cat food, though.

As for Squiggles, he can be starving and sit next to me while I'm eating, but has never had a desire for people food. He is a rescue and will eat any and every kibble food I put in front of him.

Love how your garden is hanging on, dear.

Gorgeous pictures, Sandra :)I am going to have to go out and get wet cat food this week. We only feed that to our older guy and he isn't fond of the healthier stuff which a grabbed a few cans of. One brand seems harder to find now or what he likes. Fingers crossed I find it. Might make him a chicken that always settles well with him. I do a lot of ordering online for the rest, so far so good. Pumpkin sauce? You'll have to let us know how it is! Xo

Bleubeard and Chuck have that in common. He loved turkey breast too.
Good on Squiggles for avoiding people food.
My garden thanks you:)
Take special care.

I'll have to check out Black List.

I hear the shortages will get worse before they get better. We were unable to get our favorite French fries. Bur I'm staying positive! Probably because my cat still has her favorite food and she's not harassing me.

Mine are like that too! Their bowls have to be in the spot they always are placed:) They are less flexible that humans;)

Indeed.

Unfortunately, I've heard that too.
Let me know what you think of Black List. That and Longmire are my two favorites.

Thank you, J.P. We found a grocery store yesterday that carried their acceptable foods:) Yay.

So far, all Lizzie's food has been available but mostly she eats more premium food (wet and dry) and maybe it's not as popular.
