WRITERLY WEDNESDAY

 What's your go-to word for:

Mine's: Crackerjack :)

Anybody else see OVERBOARD with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell? I always think of that movie when I hear the song Jim-Dandy or see the word.

Love that cat.
I don't think I have a word for Jim-Dandy. Or Crackerjack. I haven't seen the movie either.

Must fall under American colloquialism. If you have the opportunity listen to the song. It's fun.

Must be an American thing, hey?

That sort of language fits your westerns well. They liked words like that. How about 'boy howdy'!

Hi Sandra - I've never seen the movie ... but Crackerjack would take me back to a British tv programme I wasn't keen on ... so no to that word. Hunky Dory might do ... if 2022 turns out that way ... cheers Hilary
