How are you, blogger buds?
We visited with the grands and their parents this weekend. I was thrilled to find out the kids have donated their time and money this summer to worthwhile causes. The little girl set up a lemonade stand with one of her friends, made over seventy dollars and donated it to cancer research. And both of the twins read to shelter dogs.
My question: Do your grands, children or friend's children volunteer and where at?

If you don't like the first question, how about this one. What's your breakfast drink?
Mine's a mix of water, orange juice and a splash of peach juice.

The grands made us bracelets.

Got house guests? Breakfast drinks? Special presents? Did you have a great weekend?

LOVE that your grands are already giving back. What a wonderful start in life.
My first drink of the day is usually water. Your first drink sounds both exotic and delicious.
A great niece now 15 has been 'volunteered' by her mother, my sister, at various times to do good things. She is happy to do so.
Breakfast drink; half a cup of coffee and few good slugs of water.
Hi Sandra - no kids ... but two godchildren - born same day ... so have enjoyed those growing up ... one local and one with long South African connections: both ended up doctoring ...
Hot hot at the moment - but always helping others with water ... and breakfast is coffee til water comes to the fore! Cheers Hilary
I’m am just so happy that your grandkids are healthy and look at them go! I was never like that and would have kept the money. I bet reading to the dogs helped the dogs calm down. Is there a birdie in your chandelier?
My weekend was recovery as I went through a colonoscopy but, I was not cleaned out so, I have to repeat it. That stupid 4L jug was just too much for me to drink. I drank the first half in a1/2 hour and the. It just sat in my stomach and swished around when I moved around. I tried at 5 to drink the other half but dry heaved so I waited until 9pm and was forcing myself to drink that bubblegum flavoured crap. Well, I ran to the loo and violently threw up so I knew I couldn’t drink more. I was up TIL 3am. The next day, the colonoscopy but it was a fail. I might have diverticulitis because I have been in bad pain in my lower bowels since then. I’m fine when I have rested but when I walk around, sit and do things, the pain comes back and it feels like my lower part is being stretched and being pricked. OMG..blah blah blah...look at me go..lol.
You should try my favourite drink....1 part orange juice to 2-3 parts soda water. It makes a really nice sparkling drink.
I don't have grandkids yet. But that's cool that your grandkids have been volunteering this summer.
How sweet that your grandchildren are doing something constructive with their summers. That will be good practice for when they mature.
I have no children or grandchildren, but my neighbors have the sweetest, most mature, and helpful children on the planet. I swear, if I asked, they would move heaven and earth for me.
My morning (noon and night) drink is coffee. Can't live without it.
Birds in the wrong places were good for a laugh. Sorry, but it was a fun read.
Reading to shelter dogs is a new one. Coffee is my morning drink. My son most recently volunteered at an old folks home before covid.
Andrew,Good on your great niece. A thumbs up.
Hils, Doctoring-Excellent.
So sorry that didn't go better, Natalie.
Thanks, Natalie.
Elizabeth, So glad you have good neighbors.
That's great, Christine. Visiting the nursing homes is so important.
No grands yet--thank you for reminding me! I love reading to shelter dogs.
uy que dulces en ayudar a los perritos. Te mando un beso.
I love this post and all the fun things within! My breakfast drink is Coke Zero. Don't judge! All's relatively well apart from my ear infection but that might be on the mend. One can hope. I get my perm crown Thursday and then back to the lake. Then all will be well!
Jacqui, But you've got a puppy :)
Thanks, J.P. Sending you hugs.
Jeanie, Okay, I'm not judging, but I am shuddering:)Hehe.
I hate hearing that you have an ear infection, but glad you're on the mend.
Have fun at the lake:)
Thanks, EC:) We are very proud of them and their parents.
Water is good:)
