Hi Sandra - I've always loved lapis lazuli - beautiful stone - mostly found in Afghanistan and brought to the west by travellers. While those trilobytes in the slate are just beautiful examples, we've been covering these in our geoscience courses ...
That mask is incredible ... would put me off the afterlife!!
The museum definitely deserves all the attention it can get - thanks for these ... cheers Hilary
EC, It was such an amazing place. I know you'd love it:) Val, That moth looks more like a bat to me. Hugs Andrew, Glad you like the trilobites. Yes, no crushing the lapis:)

Love Lapis Lazuli. It is such a brilliant blue.the great artists really did all they could with this rock to get that brilliant colour. It could have been more expensive than gold.

Oooh. What a wonderful outing. Thank you for sharing some of the highlights.
Lovely pics from the museum. I've never seen a giant moth and I don't want to, it would freak me out! Hugs, Valerie
I am not sure I would be happy if someone crushed my lapis lazuli. I suppose it is quick ending.
I'm impressed with our ancestral trilobites.

Some funky rocks!
You had me at Lapis lazuli, my favorite color.
I love rocks with fossils in them. I actually have a couple from my father's collection.
That's all so very interesting, but I especially like the colors of that stone!
So beautiful. Regine

Lots of stories hidden among all of these. And if only those rocks could talk, such tales they would have to impart!
