Did You Know

Did you know, Queen Elizabeth was a subaltern in the Auxiliary Territorial Service during WWII were she drove a truck and worked as a mechanic?

I did know most of that. Did you know that she never had to sit a test for her driver's licence - and apparently scared some world leaders with her driving.

I as one of her loyal subjects knew this at an early age due to my commitment to royalty and she who really ruled my country. Now being a republican, I have different thoughts but the knowledge is still there.

I learned this during the media coverage of her death. I was initially surprised, but then not so much. She seemed to highly value service to country.

Yes, I did. I also know that when most people were sending their children out of London, her mother insisted on staying with the king and the girls did, too. Her parents were good leaders.
