Did You Know

Did you know, the platypus can find its prey by using electric currents underwater?

*Platypuses have webbed feet, beaver-like tails and bills that have cells sensitive to electrical impulses.

And the male platypus has a poison spur.

To my shame I did not know that. A poison spur has always been my fear, not that most of us come in contact with them.

EC, Ack. For something so cute, I wouldn't want to get on his bad side.
Andrew, That would be nasty.
CJ, I'm with you. They're awfully cute.
Birgit, Leftover parts. Heh.
Val, Interesting for sure.
Jeanie, Glad you liked that.
Adam, I was just over at your place. I used to work at Purdue;)

That does not surprise me. I've only once seen a platypus "in the wild". In a creek in the Eungella National Park, west of Mackay, Nort Queensland. I was fascinated by the beautiful little creature.
