Ketch-up Day

Oh my gosh, as most of you probably know, Helene smacked North Carolina. Over thirty people have died.  Asheville was hit hard. Chimney Rock Village was destroyed. Over two hundred roads are closed. Hundreds of thousands are without power. Homes and businesses under water. And the list goes on...

The HH and I were very, very lucky.  We got about seven inches of rain and downed tree limbs and, knock on wood, that was the worst of it. I hope those of you that were in Helene's path were and are safe.

My preparations: I stocked up on water and made an extra pot of coffee in case the power went out. Heh.  As you can see, I've got a ways to go on the Eternal Staining of the Fence:)

Grocery shelves in a store in FL prior to Helene.

Thanks, Sonya.

This isn't a very good picture, as it was taken through two doors, but I thought it was cute:)

From California.

Thanks, Denise.

That's it, folks. How's your weather?

So glad you are ok, but sad for all the devastation. I love the kitty picture, cute. Smart to have water and coffee just in case. I do boiled eggs and water :) it's hot and dry here. Xo

Echoing D.L.Finn. I hope that power can be restored quickly.

You were really lucky. I'm glad for you. Have you heard from RO? I sent her an e-mail.

Love the cat photo and delighted to seen how little damage was done to your property. Great photos from around the country. Here we missed all the rain and it has been dry for several days and will be for the next seven (according to the local weather crew).
