We voted Thursday. Woot. Woot. The line wasn't bad. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. For those in the states, let us know when you cast your vote.

This is such a hoot. When you are working, it's easier to track days. Especially if you work Monday-Friday. What's normally running through your mind is: How many more days till Friday. Right? Once you retire, as the HH says, "Every day is a Saturday.":) Or as the cat folks say, caturday. So he bought, what I'm going to call a retiree's clock. It's great:) It tells you what day it is, what date it is and even if it's: morning, afternoon or night. 😁

Remember this guy, we picked up at one of the grocery stores a couple of weeks ago?
Last week they were giving them away.
Which is definitely better than pitching them, but I can't help thinking a little bit of water would have gone a long way towards keeping them saleable.
I gave them a good soaking then put them in the ground. We'll see if they are still around next spring.

Our iris are just starting to bloom. I may show some of them next Sunday.
We had an election here on Saturday. I voted (early).
That clock is fantastic. I've been off work sick for a couple of weeks (nothing major), and I started losing track after a couple of days!
I'm sure you voted correctly.
I like the clock. I do at times forget which day it is.
I think the plants will thrive.
The hydrangea must be shaded. If exposed to our summer sun, the petals would be brown and crispy.
Advance voting started yesterday in KS. Not sure my vote will do any good because all six of our state votes will go to Trump. This is a blood red state. That's one reason why I am in favor of getting rid of the electoral college so my vote can truly count.
A little water and a bit of misting would have gone a long way in saving this plants.

My clock doesn’t actually tell me whether it’s day or night, but since it’s a 24 hour clock I know at a glance. I haven’t yet reached the point where I confuse day and night anyway!

Agreed on water and misting would have gone a long way, Elizabeth. Also agree on getting rid of the electoral college or barring that do it the way Nebraska and Maine do and have each district's vote count.

I'm sorry I'm late...my internet at work is horrible and keeps disconnecting me and my husband's lovely ivy fence? A neighbour complained and a by-law officer came and said we have to lower it down by half. Then told him we have to chop the one tree top off not giving a true reason why..no wires around and thst tree was there when I bought my home in 1999, mind you it was much smaller. He even mentioned our addition to the home is not right but that he couldn't do anything about it. It was put on in 1975! My husband is very upset and despondent. I have nonidea of the cost. It's sad...now the bi-law officer said it's out of the city's hands and we must talk to urban planning. I've left 2 messages but no one has called me back. This is my secret garden. A d they could tell us to rip it all up because it's too close to the sidewalk. I'm sorry....it just saddens me and seeing your garden makes me so happy for you but I'm scared what else might happen. I did speak to a lawyer and need to find out the reason they are now involved and go from there.
We're doing mail-in though I don't know what's the wisest way anymore--from the PO, from the voting location, in person? Sigh.
